  • First impression is very pleasant. Fresh green tea notes with a touch of sweet fig that gradually takes center stage. It’s not cheap within the brand, but compared to other options on the market, it’s a great value. I’d love to see how it stacks up against Amalfi’s Fico, as they seem to share some similarities at first. Lasting power is correct.

  • If green tea is one of your favorite notes, as a certain YouTuber would say, watch out and grab this fragrance. It begins with radiant green tea, soon joined by the fig note (the fruit; nothing to do with fig leaves). The sweetness of the fig makes the astringency of the green tea silky, forming an exceptional combo. It’s not a sweet fragrance; it’s the perfect balance for me. Gradually, a damp-earth note lingers in the background—I assume it should be vetiver, though my nose doesn’t associate it with any type of vetiver (sometimes I’d define it as the smell of an eraser). It maintains decent projection and trail for just over an hour and a half, then settles close to the skin, though (in my case) I can still detect it without difficulty for about 7 hours and even get some pleasant bursts. I don’t own Gris Charnel by BDK, but I do have the supposed best clone, Francique 63.55 from Fragrance World. No comparison. They might converge a bit in the late dry down, but to my taste, this seaside infusion is much more enjoyable. Totally unisex.

  • If you love green tea, buy this right now. It starts with a vibrant green tea note, soon joined by fig (the fruit, not the leaf). The sweetness of the fig softens the astringency of the tea, creating an incredible combo. It’s not sweet; it’s the perfect balance. In the dry down, there’s a damp, earthy note—I assume vetiver, but to my nose, it smells more like eraser. It projects well for about an hour and a half, then settles close to the skin, though I can still detect it for around 7 hours and sometimes get a nice little burst. I don’t own Gris Charnel by BDK, but I do have the clone many say is the best, Francique 63.55 from Fragrance World. No comparison. They might converge a bit in the late dry down, but for me, this coastal infusion is way more fun. Totally unisex.
