In the opening, there’s a sweet, spicy cherry and a touch of leather that adds depth. Something vintage that transports me to a cloudy, rainy summer afternoon. As it dries, it becomes less fruity; the cherry dominates while it stays on the skin but fades slightly, turning somewhat smoky and highlighting the leather. It’s a fragrance with a lot of personality, a certain elegance, not suitable for shy people; I noted something unisex. The trail is quite good and the longevity on my skin is about 7 hours. One of my favorites from this new collection Mac just launched.

Okay, the opening is potent, sweet, spicy, with a smoky touch that I like. Definitely the cherry and saffron stand out, especially that slightly synthetic but pleasant cherry. All of this lasts about 30 minutes. Then comes the part I liked least: an intensely sweet tone that isn’t listed in the notes. Here I notice it leans more toward a feminine profile; anyone could wear it, but not me. At the end, something I loved: a well-defined tobacco scent, like smelling a fresh cigar, not pure tobacco or loose leaf. I don’t detect the leather or the violet, but I do smell the woods accompanying the tobacco. Maybe it’s the suede and saffron combination. Its longevity is plausible and very good; the trail and projection aren’t as strong, but given what it has, it’s enough. Verdict: it’s a rare beast, a nahual that changes species, from man to wolf, from woman to jaguar. I’m not sure I’ll use it because of its feminine faces. Highly recommended for ladies who can tame this multifaceted creature. It’s totally nocturnal, moving under the shadows of darkness.

This fragrance is totally out of this world, an intense and powerful opening where the cherry really shines. After half an hour, I notice some leather. It’s potent, detailed for women, but a man with personality can wear it too to project an untamed image. The scent evolves, sometimes feminine and other times masculine; you can easily go with it for about 7 hours. It projects well for the first 5. I recommend it for evening and night. It’s a hidden pearl.

  • Ruby Woo is a bombastic fragrance, nothing subtle or quiet. It screams ‘I’M HERE’ the moment it leaves the bottle with an omnipresent leather note. It’s a red leather accompanied by playful cherries, saffron, and pink pepper that give it a spicy character. In the base, there are violets, suede, sandalwood, and cedar. Friends who know Arab fragrances see many similarities with Layukawan. I don’t have the sample yet, but it’s on my wishlist because of that gorgeous bottle and box.

  • A true hidden gem and nothing mass-produced, totally unisex. In short: leather, cherries, and wood. It smells very similar to Rasasi’s Yuqawam, which I own and is an absolutely rich fragrance. It’s super long-lasting for the price, over 8 hours with two hours of strong projection.

  • I agree with Cesar Jacobo, are we the only ones who smell tobacco? Or are we confusing it with leather? As soon as I opened the decant, I detected tobacco. I like it just as much.

  • Didn’t hook me. I bought it blindly because of the cherry note, but as soon as I sprayed it, it smelled like cherry mixed with leather and gave me nausea. Over time, it turned woody and floral, nothing pleasant. Plus, it lasts forever; even after spraying it with water, it remains a heavy scent that lingers on clothes indefinitely.
