Royal Oeillet: Starts with a chemical top note of bitter orange peel and lots of pepper that smells like cheap cleaner, without the rose or myrrh. The middle gets worse, adding clove and geranium which reinforce that generic cleaning product scent (no pink pepper or cedar). The dry down is the most bearable: the chemical smell fades, leaving bitter orange peel, clove, pepper, and a hint of violet (no sandalwood). It lasts 1-2 hours at a distance and 5-6 hours on the skin. I’m sorry to say this about Oriza L. Legrand, but it’s the worst fragrance in their collection. The opening and evolution are unpleasant, a harsh citrus cleaner smell that lasts for an hour, before drying into a bearable but not pleasant bitter orange with spices and violet. Avoid it completely: it’s harsh, chemical, cheap, and has a bad evolution except for the dry down, nothing like the brand’s much better creations. What a pity.
