It’s a masterpiece. The opening can be strong and medicinal, but the dry-down is spectacular, super elegant, and it lingers on clothes for days. It’s a shame it’s discontinued because I’d love to use it more, but I don’t want it to run out. Psychedelique was the replacement, but for me, it’s not superior to Patchouli Absolu.

A Tom Ford gem, which I’ve read on forums is being discontinued. It’s a patchouli (as its name suggests), composed according to various forums of several types of this note, none of which I personally recognize. It smells of wet earth, sweetened with a note I can’t quite identify. It has an 80s vibe, smelling of a rich, mature man; for me, it’s totally masculine, unless some ladies like it strong. Longevity on my skin is very good, lasting 8+ hours, with moderate projection, about a meter. Recommended for fall-winter, as it might be a bit much in the heat.
A gem from Tom Ford that they say will soon be discontinued. It’s pure patchouli, a blend of various types smelling of wet earth, sweetened by something I can’t quite identify. It has an 80s vibe, smelling of a mature, wealthy man; totally masculine, except for ladies who love strong scents. Longevity is excellent, over 8 hours, with moderate projection up to a meter. Recommended for fall and winter; it might be a bit much in the heat.

I absolutely loved it—I finished the 20ml sample I ordered online. I tested it in various settings, always during the day or late afternoon: parties, with my partner, or at the office. The patchouli is noticeable, smelling of that ‘wet earth’ right when rain starts. The sweetness is soft, with sparkling green notes taking the lead. In the dry-down, it seems to have a fougère or cypress with exquisite wood. It feels unisex, especially in the opening and heart, but as it settles, it leans more masculine due to that green-woody side. I can detect oakmoss, giving it charming, slightly rough nuances, along with that green note mentioned earlier. For a few seconds, it reminded me of Balenciaga Pour Homme, or some classic herbal aromatic with a modern twist. Longevity is its only flaw—well, unless you factor in the price, because those with money won’t see it as an issue. The opening is powerful and promising, but after two hours, all that beauty is just clinging to the skin. With more application, it lasts longer; what I used to do was carry a small refill with a sprayer and, every two or three hours, discreetly puff, puff, refreshing it and enjoying another moment of wonderful exquisiteness.
