I like how it starts with floating citrus notes over a bustling city, like cold mountain air with a clean, soapy breeze, and ends long and discretely fresh. But it’s not like that. In my opinion, it’s, to put it mildly, the essence of a contemporary conventional perfume—an industrial composition chasing keywords like fresh and youthful, aiming for maximum appeal and profit with the bare minimum of the resources that make a perfume special. The fragrance unleashes an extremely rare and somewhat forced freshness at first, as if a chef were tossing several ingredients into a pan to see what happens. A forest with tree bases soaked in sea water. It could also be a poorly assembled designer fragrance. It begins with citrus, mentholated, and green notes with an overly sharp eucalyptus, then drifts into a floral-tinted shower gel. One of the few Lutens that didn’t evoke any emotion in me. Sometimes, it just passes.
