Panda by Zoologist Perfumes is an aromatic woody fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2014, this composition was created by perfumer Paul Kiler. The top notes unfold with bamboo, green leaves, green tea, Sichuan pepper, lemon, and mandarin; the heart reveals osmanthus, lily of the valley, mimosa, incense, and orange blossom; while the base notes settle with musk, moss, Haitian vetiver, sandalwood, and cedar.

It starts with a synthetic but very pleasant apple note. It’s as artificial as it is optimistic. I detect soft notes of tangerine, jasmine, and woody green bamboo. A fragrance that shines on sunny days. Very fresh. At its best, it made me think of an electronic music party on the beach. By your side, the sea is neon green, and a pleasant, fresh breeze blows from there. I imagine the DJ is a panda. Very long-lasting. Interesting and a bit weird (which I like). It evolves quite well, becoming more earthy or woody without losing that fresh, plastic apple vibe. I’d definitely wear it. It’s a fun fragrance.
It smells like a perfume from my childhood that I can’t remember the name of, and it was probably my all-time favorite; it’s not identical, but it’s the closest thing I’ve found. I’ll buy it because I loved it and because it brings back beautiful memories.
