Another one that doesn’t project or last, smells like synthetic plastic. Not recommended, it’s a waste of money.

I bought it thinking it was a worthy collection piece, but it’s unbearable. It transports me to an Indian market (I guess it’s the same for Arabs; everyone has their own olfactory experiences). In Delhi, there’s a crowded spice market, chaotic, where motorcycles, cows, dogs, cats, and rats cross paths. It’s dirty with a rancid smell. In the humid August monsoon, the spices from street stalls soak into your sweaty skin, mixed with the animal remains of the creatures roaming around—that’s what this perfume smells like. Not all aromas need to be pleasant; in fact, social cleanliness is leading us toward deodorization and smelling all the same. This perfume is a real, distant scent, but for a simple Spaniard subjected to European standards, it’s intolerable.

A stroll through the streets of Arab-era Málaga. The Ecuación Natural website plays Yanni’s ‘Deliverance’ in the background—a good start. The opening is intense saffron and ginger. You feel Arab Málaga, its streets, the bustle, the people, the stalls, the life. The effect is beautiful; Megamare with the coast transports you to an old Málaga. The quality of the notes and blend is noticeable instantly, as is the projection that easily reaches two meters. However, it’s important to note this is a strong perfume, very spiced in a dirty, heavy way, like a mass of people and street life. For me, it falls into the category of an olfactory experience, not a usable perfume. The main issue, though many might love it, is that after the first hour, it shifts phases: the saffron fades, and a potent clove with creamy tobacco emerges. I thought the coffee would be more noticeable, but it does have a touch, the strongest and most enveloping part of the sweetness. Over time, it drifts toward that floral side, becoming soapy clove, lacking warmth and almost devoid of spice. While it has a lovely aura of an Arab garden stroll, it’s too soapy and unbalanced here, like using jasmine oil. Sometimes the earlier spicy character returns, but the overall vibe is more of a palace tour. When the floral peak softens and gourmand notes return, it contrasts sharply with the initial feeling, and here lies the flaw: the transition from the intense palace florals to the lingering spice never balances. It’s a journey that never achieves perfection in its shifts. Scent: 8.5/10. Longevity: 8.7/10. Projection: 7.5/10. Emotional Impact: Yes. Originality: 9.5/10. Price: 140€/50ml. Recommended: Moderate (if you like spicy perfumes).
