Miguel Matos is a pure genius; here he’s created a floral masterpiece with a peppery twist that captivates from the very first second. The opening is bright, then the flowers bloom without being clean or rancid, settling into leather, wood, and an animalic base that adds serious personality. I detect an undisclosed cannabis note that gives it a unique vibe. It’s a boss scent with character that commands respect and curiosity, not just compliments. I bought it blind and have no regrets, though I expected something darker and more mysterious. The longevity and projection are excellent, nothing more. If you’re a boss and haven’t heard of it yet, buy it—it’s a keeper.

Probably my favorite floral perfume. I received a sample a few months ago and eventually had to buy the bottle. It’s a yellow floral (mimosa and broom that at times produce an effect reminiscent of some ylang-ylang-focused perfumes) and white flowers, especially in the opening, which combine with sweet notes over an animalic bed of beeswax and civet. A masterpiece by Miguel Matos. The intense violet color of the fragrance (watch out, it stains clothes) is already a prelude to what we’re about to encounter. One of the densest and most concentrated perfumes I know (reminds me a bit of the style of Francesca Bianchi or Baruti) that lasts forever and projects fantastically for hours. I see it as totally versatile; despite its versatility, it’s ideal for night and cold climates; its floral and playful character makes it perfectly wearable in heat (I’ve worn it during the day here in the Canaries and it works very well) and for daytime use. That said, due to its intensity, I’m not sure if it’s the best option if you work with people close by who might be sensitive to potent scents. In summary, a 10/10 in every aspect and in my top 10 favorite fragrances of all time. Sincerely, I think the Calaj house is one of the best niche brands existing today, and in my opinion, it’s placing Romania at the very top of global perfume production. Many thanks to Calaj and Miguel Matos for offering us gems like this!

It’s a yellow floral with mimosa and broom that reminds me of ylang-ylang, mixed with white florals in the opening over a sweet base of beeswax and civet. To me, it’s a masterpiece by Matos. The deep violet bottle (be careful, it stains) already hints at the density of what’s inside. It’s super concentrated, in the style of Francesca Bianchi or Baruti, lasting hours with fantastic projection. I see it as versatile: ideal for night or cold weather, but its floral character makes it wearable in heat (I use it in the Canaries and it works). Due to the intensity, it might not be the best option if you work with people sensitive to strong scents. A 10/10, in my all-time top 10. I believe Calaj is one of the best niche houses out there and is putting Romania on the map. Thanks to both for these gems.
