Theoretically it’s just Oud, but on the skin it reminds me of other Cartier scents, a bit of this and a bit of that. It opens with that quasi-medical smell of authentic Oud, which I find a bit strong and almost unpleasant, but within minutes it evolves into the classic woody tone. Those who know pure Oud will say it’s similar. Then it continues with resinous or slightly amber notes over that woody base, in a very beautiful phase with good projection and longevity. It’s a woody oriental, but not heavy or ultra-opulent. If you like the genre, you’ll surely like this Cartier, although its price places it in the luxury segment.
I agree with the previous reviewer: the opening is strange, an scent that makes you think, ‘What the hell did I put on?’. Then it evolves and the harmony comes together, rounding into a woody and spicy fragrance with a soapy incense note that becomes noticeable as it settles, elegant and not aggressive.
