Similar opening to the original; as it dries down, it loses some sweetness (which never fully disappears), leaving sweet citrus and woody notes reminiscent of Arab fragrances like Art of Universe or Sceptre Malachite. That citrus-sweet vibe is very similar; lately, many Arab perfumes have brought that flavor I just can’t quite identify.
This is truly a mature tangerine, well-crafted. It’s not sweet, it’s earthy and gives a grounded sensation. Very wearable; it shifts the focus from the youthful first edition to an older audience that wants to wear that DNA without smelling too sweet or like a high schooler.
Didn’t try it; neither the bottle nor the notes tempt me; I prefer the original Mandarin Sky.
