  • Contradictions with this perfume, just like with its name. ‘Ode to Dullness’? That name reminds me of a daily scent more similar to ‘Not a Perfume’, but no, my dear, it’s a fragrance with a lot of identity. Refined, delicate, feminine, sweet without being cloying; you can feel it’s high-end. As an opening note, I detect spices, cloves, and star anise, which last quite a while. However, as time passes, the sandalwood takes the lead, but it’s a fresher, more floral sandalwood, like the kind from Hawaii. In general, this brand shares a lot of ambroxan in the heart, and I swear you can feel it. Projection: 7/10, Longevity: 6/10, Sillage: 7/10. The more pumps you apply, the more intense it gets.

  • It’s contradictory, just like its name. ‘Ode to Dullness’? Sounds like a daily scent similar to ‘Not a Perfume’, but no—this one has serious personality. It’s refined, delicate, feminine, and sweet without being cloying. You can tell it’s high-quality. It opens with spices: cloves and star anise that linger for a while. Then sandalwood takes over, but it’s fresh and floral, like Hawaiian sandalwood. The brand uses a lot of ambroxan in the heart, and it’s noticeable. Projection: 7/10, longevity: 6/10, sillage: 7/10. More sprays mean more intensity.

  • A scent of sandalwood and especially cashmere, accompanied by a noticeable touch of anise that gives it a spiced-warm vibe without being too potent… which I appreciate. It’s not necessarily a novel aroma, but it’s incredibly rich and cozy… which makes it ideal for autumn and winter. Its longevity on my skin is around 6-7 hours with moderate projection and trail. Also, personally, I love the ‘ombre’ effect in the bottle’s tones. I’m not ruling out buying it for the next fall.

  • Well. A perfume never carries a name just for the sake of it, out of whim or without meaning. And this is a game: it’s a perfume that appears sober, matte, neither shining nor impactful, because it’s an ode to routine—something that remains unchanging, intelligent, orderly, and consistent. Soft, balanced woods for those who shy away from the spectacular. For those who love the minimum: dry, neutral, without flashiness. It’s a soft whisper that lingers over time… and there’s its magic. The restraint, the non-flashy nature. It’s not a sexy fragrance; it’s sensual, right against the skin. Habit, the familiar, the same days… Elegance. Austere beauty. The bottle itself announces it: an introspective mineral blue fading to red, the end of a day; a sense of retreat, habit, and staying the same. That’s what this perfume tells me. That’s how it behaves on my skin. I really like it. Autumn and winter afternoons. Personal indulgence.

  • Good. A perfume never carries a name just for the sake of it; here, it’s a game. It’s an ode to routine: sober, muted, not trying to shine or make an impact, unchanging and intelligent. Soft, balanced woods for those who shy away from the spectacular. It’s for those who love the minimal, dry, and neutral, with no flashiness. It’s a whisper that lingers over time—that’s its magic. Restrained, nothing ostentatious. It’s not sexy; it’s sensual, right up against the skin. Habit, the familiar, the same days… pure elegance. The bottle says it all: an introspective mineral blue that shifts to reddish at day’s end, a sense of gathering inward. That’s how it behaves on my skin. I love it. Perfect for autumn and winter afternoons. Personal enjoyment.

  • There are perfumes that don’t seek to dazzle but to accompany. Ode to Dullness is exactly that: a serene refuge in the middle of a gray day. It smells like that pause in the routine when you watch the rain fall and your body craves a cup of hot tea and a blanket. The anise opens the air with a delicate freshness, almost like the steam rising from wet ground; then sandalwood and cashmere flower soften the edges, adding that creamy warmth that comforts, like a jacket you put on when the cold sets in. Its trail is soft; after the first two hours, it becomes more intimate; after four, it stays very close to the skin. Perfect for those moments when you’re looking for a quiet refuge at home while the rain falls outside. It’s a clean, cozy hug, an ode to simple moments: the ones that don’t need adornments to be beautiful.
