Aldehydic opening that evolves into green traces and valley lily. The accords of Metal have such a well-structured opening that they could correspond to a metallic aroma, if such a thing could exist… it’s cold and citrusy yet delicate and soft. Floral, acidic, icy, and mossy opening; fresh citrus heart with some floral notes and a strong vegetal charge… towards the end, the musky, green, and fresh traces, which have been there from the start, settle into a sweet, softly warm caress. I’m lucky to have a splash bottle and treasure this accord… at some point, it reminds me of YSL Y.

It was my favorite perfume for years until Paco Rabanne stopped producing it. Every time I wore it, people asked for the name. It has a captivating aroma. Luckily, I managed to get a vintage bottle on eBay that I use sparingly because it would sadden me not to feel it again…

  • My sister used to wear it, and I’d sneak it on. I love how it smells. It’s an elegant scent—not overpowering, but not too light either. Perfect for any time of year.

This perfume was glorious, wonderful, special, and unique. What a pity it’s no longer available, except for a vintage bottle on eBay at diamond prices, without knowing if it’s well-preserved. The name fit like a glove because of that metallic hint that made it unique. My trail and longevity were fantastic, and its evolution was prodigious. It’s like imagining Paco Rabanne’s metallic mini dresses and recalling the scent of this fragrance. A masterpiece.❤❤❤

  • A challenging perfume, for sure. Metal is a masterpiece. Ten years after Calandre, it takes some cues but raises the level, making it more eighties-inspired, with that extravagant touch of identity the moment needed. Calandre is one of the most exquisite green florals; Metal is its dark side—earthy, animal, with stagnant and dirty green notes, aromatically opulent, culminating in the union of moss and vetiver. But it doesn’t just show the dark; it also reveals the sensitive side, with articulated floral aldehydes like hyacinth, jasmine, iris, and sweetbox (my favorites). A perfume impossible to reformulate; today it would come across as green, flat, synthetic, and unbearable. What makes Metal shine is the exquisiteness of its base and the aged quality of its florals. A challenging, bold green floral.

  • The world looks so handsome when I wear this. What a level of modernity! HOOO, WOW, BORN IN 1979. Absolutely delicate and subtle, nothing like the hard coldness of metal.
