I just tried this new launch by Frédéric Malle with Anne Flipo, and it moved me deeply, taking me back to a profound childhood where scents feel as stable as a first kiss. First, I spray it into the air to catch it from afar; then it falls over me like rain among exotic plants, with that humidity of water sliding down leaves. Sure, I know they’re synthetic, but the naturalness they convey makes me question the name ‘Synthetic’. It’s a jungle dream or an exuberant botanical garden where you barely notice the earth, very different from Carnal Flower. After that 20-30 minute experience, it leaves its present as a gift. In summer, under the twilight of our streets, a flower illuminates the shadows with its magic: the moonflower awakens the senses, just like this Synthetic Jungle. Hyper-realistic, beautiful, and mysterious. I didn’t expect this based on the olfactory pyramid, but this is how I feel about it. Great trail with 2-5 hours of projection that softens to last 12 hours on skin. Ideal for warm climates, especially above 20 degrees. I see it as unisex, though I understand its feminine side. I wear it day and night, the latter more intimate, so the breeze can carry it to your surroundings. Even though the leaves are already wilting, I won’t wait for them to fall before buying it. Skin test: EXCELLENT BUY.

The opening is infinitely green and slightly astringent. What stands out most is the lily of the valley with galbanum and a touch of sweet blackcurrant, reminiscent of L’Ombre Dans L’Eau by Diptyque. Then it seems like the jungle gets hit by heat; after a few hours, I only smell wilted hyacinths. My partner said it smelled like bad breath. Aside from that, it projects well and lasts a long time. Despite the promising opening, I didn’t like it. Had it not taken that decrepit turn, it would have been a lovely, unisex perfume with a feminine tint, perfect for spring and summer in informal or semi-formal occasions. Pleasant: 5/10 Interesting: 6/10 Versatile: 7/10 Original: 5/10
It’s a freshness of fresh, elevated seeds, especially due to the basil. It brings light and freshness to the jungle, evolving into something ethereal and abstract. If Carnal Flower is what Poison Ivy would wear, this is what she’d eat.
Freshness of laboratory seeds, heavily marked by basil. It injects light into the jungle and evolves into something ethereal and abstract. If Carnal Flower is what Poison Ivy would wear, this is what she’d eat.
I adore it; it brings back childhood memories of playing on the lawn and in the garden. It has a childish quality that captivates me, though I don’t think it’s for everyone. It’s green to the core, but the name fits it PERFECTLY. Just a heads-up: don’t buy it blindly. It lasts quite well on skin and projects strongly, which is great.

I absolutely love it. If green had a scent, it would be Synthetic Jungle. It smells like a meadow after rain, fragrant shrubs, and damp earth—it’s one of the most elegant greens, alongside Floris 89 and Secretion Vert. Inspired by Chanel No. 19 and Private Collection, it recalls that green opening of the first without being so floral; as for Private Collection, I’ve never smelled it like this, so I can’t compare, but it definitely has that vintage air. Perfect for formal summer daytime and evening occasions.
I absolutely love it. If green had a scent, it would be Synthetic Jungle. It smells like a meadow after rain, fragrant shrubs, and damp earth—it’s one of the most elegant greens, alongside Floris 89 and Secretion Magnifique. It evokes Chanel No. 19 and Private Collection: it has that green opening without being overly floral. I’ve never tried it, but it definitely has a vintage vibe. Perfect for formal daytime and evening events in the summer.
