Oh, Mahora! I regret not buying it when I had the chance; now it’s hard to find. It’s a different, voluptuous, enveloping, very warm scent. It’s a spicy floral, buttery and creamy, ideal for the night. It has a lot of body and presence; its spices are strongly intertwined with its bouquet of white flowers, making it captivating and seductive. I can imagine the great Cleopatra wearing it.
I feel like the house took it away. I don’t understand why; it was so special: intense, it reminded me of coconut, and above all, of the smell of vines. It was like walking through a vineyard after the rain, wet earth mixed with grapes. A unique sensation. Smell varies a lot; not everyone picks up the same notes. Looking at the ingredients, neither coconut nor vines appear (a mystery).
Mahora is intoxicating, sweet, and sensual. It transports me to the Caribbean or those places where summer is eternal and the fun never stops. When I was little, I was always drawn to its scent and the bottle. In terms of aroma, it reminds me a bit of Givenchy’s Organza and Champs Elysées, like a blend of both. The sandalwood and vetiver are strong, but what really stands out is the vanilla and bitter almond, with soft touches of neroli and orange. Over time, on the skin, it becomes spicier. Very delicious!
Mahora is a classic that’s no longer around, a really good perfume. Comparing it to perfuming Cleopatra seems fun and creative, lol. It’s a voluptuous fragrance with a lot of personality, just like everything from Guerlain, my favorite house. It has a very interesting floral accord.
Mahora smells great, but it doesn’t quite reach the heights of other Guerlain classics. I’ve had my eye on it for years, and the moment I tried it, I got an instant déjà vu. It starts green and vegetal, then almond milk notes sweeten and floralize the scent. Next comes an intense dance of white flowers, almost like a dense tropical bouquet. Orange, jasmine, and neroli make it thick and warm, while the base features a beautiful, warm sandalwood that’s nearly identical to vintage Samsara with a touch of soft vanilla. The connection to Samsara is obvious; they must be cousins. It’s a summer scent, but watch the dosage. Imagine a hot summer night, a piña colada on a wooden table, friends for endless chats, and a starry sky overhead. That’s the perfect night for Mahora. P.S. The formula was rescued from the vault a few years ago; now it lives in the Les Parisiennes line as Mayotte, though with a different soul.
