  It’s a great perfume for M7 original lovers to wear on summer nights, and even for those who don’t know the original. It’s very versatile—it recalls the classic M7 but with more citrus and white floral notes, making for a soft and spot-on version.

  I just got my hands on this and regret leaving it untouched for so long. I usually distrust fragrances that dress up as ‘sport’ or ‘fresh,’ but I was completely wrong this time. It’s the best citrusy oud I’ve tried to date, even surpassing several Montales. Bitter orange and bergamot bathe a sober, fresh oud with vetiver. A masterful balance of citrus, musk, and wood. Too bad L’Oreal removed it from YSL. Hoping for a relaunch. Lasts 6–8 hours with notable projection from a single spray. I recommend it if you like bitter citrus with a rough yet elegant touch.

  @ Pplu : If you’re a huge fan of the M7 but struggle with the Fresh, try the Oud by Acqua di Parma, which features oud leaves with citrus. Although the final result isn’t similar, this fragrance is quite good, even the oud or agar smells more natural.

  This M7 Fresh attempts to be the lighter version of the classic and partially succeeds. It opens with a citrus cocktail that smells synthetic and medicinal, where bitter orange dominates. Then comes a spicy ginger, well-balanced but equally artificial and boring. The oud is so diluted it’s barely noticeable, overshadowed by the musk and vetiver, which robs it of its identity. I wonder if it’s the fresh version of an Oud, because looking for it with a magnifying glass makes little sense. It’s a respectable fragrance that shouldn’t be called Fresh; it’s well-made but with very artificial essences that don’t convince me. I expect more from it, especially compared to its vintage M7 sibling, which is excellent. Rating: 5
