Love by Chloé is a woody floral musk fragrance for women. Launched in 2010, this composition was created by Louise Turner and Natalie Gracia-Cetto. The top notes reveal pink pepper and African orange blossom; the heart unfolds iris, lilac, hyacinth, heliotrope, and wisteria; while the base settles on talc, rice, and musk.

I absolutely love vintage perfumes with powdery notes that remind me of grandma’s clothing drawers with soap. Love Chloé smells like makeup, talcum powder, soap, and flowers all blended together: elegant and romantic. It lasts forever, has great strength, and is instantly recognizable—perfect as a signature scent. Wear it to a romantic dinner or out with friends, and you’ll look amazing.
Don’t buy this blindly; test it on your skin. On me, it smells very clean, somewhere between talcum powder and soap. It’s not sweet, though floral notes soften the soapy scent. It’s a strange aroma: it smells like a talcum-soaped floral bath, but it doesn’t evolve. It’s always the same, with no variations. The longevity and sillage are moderate. For me, who loves powdery scents, it still seems too ‘powdery.’ It’s pleasant and clean, but nothing warm; it smells like expensive soap. It’s valid for daily wear. The bottle is beautiful, elegant, sober, feminine, and has warm colors I adore. I bought the miniature for its beauty, but I won’t buy the full size. Interesting only for those seeking clean, powdery florals and nothing more.

On first spray, it’s spicy with orange blossom, but once it dries, my beloved violet and intense lilacs emerge. It brings back memories of my grandmother’s patio. Although that nostalgia is strong, I wouldn’t wear it: it smells too powdery, like old powder (not unbearable like the Insolences by Guerlain). If you love lilacs and violets, you’ll love this.
It smells good, with a touch of talc that wasn’t what I expected; it mixes a bit of Bulgari Pour Femme with a mystery I absolutely love. It settles without being overwhelming and lasts just enough, perfect for a migraine day.
Totally disappointing. I received a sample of the year’s bestseller and thought the brand had paid to win. It smells like grandma, with years added on by that maximum powdery note mixed with iris. Definitely not for me, and I won’t recommend it.
Even though it’s getting cold, this perfume keeps surprising me with beautiful facets: warm, comforting, and soft upon application, yet it stays strong all day long. I’m liking it more and more!
What a pity; I bought it on impulse two months ago. The first test was nice, but wearing it turned out to be intense and overwhelming. It truly smells like my grandma.
Finally, I found something interesting. At first, it left me indifferent, but as it developed, I fell in love with it. If you don’t like powdery scents, stay away. It’s perfect for women over 50; it has amazing staying power. I’ve even worn it in the summer without feeling overwhelmed. Although I can’t stand lilacs, they work well here. I give it a solid 10.
In a failed attempt to reconcile, I decided to wear it to work, and it was a mistake. I still can’t stand it, and we’re still not meant for each other. But I have to highlight its incredible longevity: I sprayed it yesterday at 8 AM, and today, before my shower, it still lingers like faint whispers. If you like it, you’re lucky; the quality is outstanding.
In the end, I gifted it to my mom, and she absolutely loves it. She said I wouldn’t leave without it, and moms are always right. At least it’s no longer abandoned on my shelf; it found an owner who truly appreciates it.
A very rich, sweet powder of bergamot with a musk base. I didn’t detect any pepper, just scenes from an old vanity—women with high buns and heavy skirts. It’s refined, delicate, and very feminine. For Chloé, this love is soft, powdery, and delicately penetrating.
The best perfume I’ve ever used. I’m obsessed. It smells clean, feminine, and sensual, not cloying. You can wear it on any occasion, and people will always say it smells good. Truly original. I hope it never disappears from the market.

To me, it doesn’t smell like dust; it’s very floral (iris and lilac) with a musk and orange blossom that give a ‘clean’ sensation. It might seem like an innocent love at first, but it hugs you tightly and sticks with you. It’s very linear and lasts over 12 hours consistently. Just use it moderately because it can be overwhelming. It really depends on your pH and personal taste.
It’s a fresh, powdery fragrance with that old makeup vibe and lots of lilac. It reminds me so much of the scent of classic violet candies.
I went absolutely crazy for this perfume after trying a sample gifted to me in 2011 that its original owner didn’t like. It cost me a lot of money and time to find it online, but once I tried it, it wrapped me in a pure, wonderful mist. I know it’s not the typical perfume for my age, but my love for it is inevitable. It smells like talc, lilacs, and violets—intense yet light. If people say it smells like grandma, then let her be a young, original grandma who smells like pure delight.
I fell irrevocably in love after a coworker gave me a sample she hated back in March-April 2011. I couldn’t afford it then, so I only used testers. It hurt when they discontinued it… A great love was gone, and I couldn’t have it. Now, with more financial freedom, I finally bought it online. Today I fell into its soft mist: it embraces me, envelops me, and lifts me to the clouds. Just on my wrists, I’m overwhelmed by its pure aroma. I know it’s not social for me; at 26, I’m not the typical profile. Still, my love is inevitable. I’ve fallen into its arms and hope to stay there for a long time. Talc, powder, lilacs, violets… Intense without being heavy. What do they say about smelling like grandma? I’ll be a young, original grandma who smells like delights.
Love, what an ethereal and vintage-style perfume. Love smells like a beautiful floral talc, highlighting lilac and hyacinth that seem to have accidentally mixed with a bar of lipstick. I’d summarize the fragrance as: subtle, soft, feminine, elegant, with that classic air and a touch of fragility. It’s versatile, looks good at any time, its sillage is moderate but its longevity is strong. If you like clean floral scents and vintage style, Love is a great option.
I bought this blindly for my mother because she loves powdery scents and the reviews here were good. However, after trying it, I regret it and only hope it doesn’t seem too overpowering and outdated to her like it does to me. It doesn’t smell like lipstick to me, but rather like cosmetic powders with notes of Oriental woods.
Out of all perfumes that claim to smell like soap, this one takes the cake. It smells like luxury bar soap, I absolutely love it, and it lasts a long time on my skin, which is vital for me. I don’t think it smells ‘old’; I believe perfumes don’t smell ‘old’—it’s like we think that once you reach a certain age, you should limit yourself to just one type of fragrance.
This review is a love declaration to this beautiful perfume. Once it settles, the scent is a balm of tranquility, purity, and cleanliness that stays in your olfactory memory forever. It’s one of the tenderest I’ve ever tried. I love its floral opening and how it settles with that wonderful dusting of talc and musk. It smells clean, undoubtedly, but never like neutral soap as many say. It’s a delicate, fine floral scent with amazing longevity. Adaptable to any age and occasion, it never clashes because, although potent, it’s not invasive. Wonderful, I never get tired of smelling it.
Dear Love, in the past we wrote a brief love story, and eager to try other scents, I let you go in a change. When my mature sense of smell realized it was a huge mistake, you returned to my life by the twists of fate, and now, with more maturity, I truly enjoy your aroma. The musky notes are the most standout, evoking my grandmother’s powder, then I perceive the iris. Despite being delicate, it has great longevity. I’m so glad to have found you again.
Love Chloe is a beautiful floral suitable for any season, a true all-rounder. Yet, thanks to its delicate and ethereal side, it’s also perfect for romantic and whimsical moments. It differs from its brother, Intense, which with its pepper and orange notes is more volatile, light, sparkly, and less intense. This one, with iris and vanilla, has a denser musk, more for winter, heavier but elegant and retro, though both are modern and wearable. They project well without being loud. You can really taste the rice and crunchy vanilla that gives it body and sweetness. Gorgeous for pairing with flowy dresses in spring or autumn. I don’t know why they discontinued the Love line at Chloe; it’s one of the brand’s best.
I used to hate florals; I preferred woody, musky, earthy, powdery scents… you get the idea. Or so I thought, because I’ve tried some and absolutely loved them. This one surprised me so much; I’m obsessed with the original, that little-known fragrance that was a real challenge for me. Since it was listed as musky, I bought it, and it was a brilliant surprise. A true delight, I’ll definitely repurchase.
The Sensu house in Spain has an identical clone, identical, identical! It took me forever to find something similar worth it, and finally, I found it. Chloe Love is my perfume, it’s me, it’s my scent. It’s a marvel. Here’s the reference for the Sensu clone: Item M71TSCLL.
Thank you so much, @Valentina1969. I was super curious to try this discontinued perfume, and now I have a clear idea. The bottles being sold right now are gold-plated, and we don’t even know if they’re still in good condition.
Another day I felt like a lottery winner for snagging a 50ml bottle at my neighborhood drugstore. My sister had hers years ago and adored it, just like violets, my favorite flower, but lately they make me gag; that violet powder just upsets my stomach. There are way too many purple flowers for me, though I admit it smells elegant, refined, and mature, with that powdery sweetness that feels a bit overwhelming. Longevity and sillage are top-notch. I’ll have to pass it on; someone else will love it more, especially since it’s discontinued and a pain to find.
Another great loss. Another gem taken from the middle. A powdery, soapy scent, softly sweet. To lovers of this perfume, I advise you to try the Divain imitation.
Beautiful subtlety of pink pepper and powdery, elegant purple flowers. As always, the pink pepper-currant combination with violets works great. A spontaneous, natural elegance. An aroma that reminds me of makeup 💄 but light and oxygenated. Many of us miss it terribly 🙂 I admit that from this house, the Atelier de Fleurs or Chloé variants work better for me than the original itself, which, while beautiful, perhaps feels simpler to me than the others.
There are few things in perfumery that seem more ordinary to me than saying a perfume ‘smells like grandma.’ It’s rude to older people (never said positively) and shows a lack of vocabulary. If they mean that Love Chloé has a vintage vibe… well, yes, it does. No wonder they discontinued it; I doubt it was a bestseller. It’s not a perfume to mass-market. Personally, it would be my signature if it weren’t discontinued. I love it, but I don’t think I’d pay 200€ for a 30 ml bottle. That’s where we could stop. So I treasure my 50 ml mini, using it only for very special occasions. I tried the Pull and Bear copy, of course, but it doesn’t smell the same and lacks the same quality. It’s a perfect bouquet of purple flowers covered in rice powder. It’s sweet, possibly cloying in very hot climates. It lasts a long time and projects quite well. When I wear it, I feel calm. I enjoy it while it lasts, but I don’t doubt I’ll miss it when it runs out.

Pulcinella, I recommend you try the Divain version of Love Chloé. Though more diluted, the aura is very faithful and beautiful. Generally, I don’t usually pay attention to dupes, but in this case, I think it’s a well-executed job. 💜🌸💄
@Lux, thanks a million, I’ll take a look to see how it goes 👀
It’s a great perfume. Delicate, clean, and sensual in its own way. I fell in love at first sight, and it’s definitely not for everyone. Persistent without being heavy, light and soft like a caress. Full of subtle twists that unfold slowly, without rushing, revealing a trail to follow on the skin over time. It is, was, and will be a 10 for me.
A powdery floral from head to toe. I’ve realized I’m obsessed with lilac and violet flowers, iris… For me, this is an autumn/winter floral; it’s not sweet at all. It has a beautiful powdery quality and seems perfect for these winter days when you feel heavy and don’t want something sweet or overwhelming. People say it smells like an old lady, but I don’t know what kind of old ladies they’ve met; there are perfumes that are all the rage now that smell much more stale than this. I’m 25, and it smells like a sweet, elegant girl on me, zero invasive; the more I wear it, the more I love it. I had a sample of the original, tried the Divain version, and pff, it feels like it’s halfway there, like a watered-down version of the original. A YouTuber recommended the Tertia Sensu version, saying they’re identical; when I buy it, I’ll edit this to say if it’s faithful or not.
Wow, what a perfume! Why did they discontinue it??? I don’t have the original, but after seeing so many glowing reviews and knowing I love all its notes, I had to try the Divain version. It lasts all day, ideal for autumn, winter, and fresh springs. With more heat, it gets heavy. Honestly, it’s gorgeous; I love it, and I wish they’d bring it back. I’d buy several bottles and all its variations. I’m obsessed. It’s a bouquet of violets, lilacs, hyacinths… powdery, dusted like a geisha, delicate yet powerful. I’m not sure if I’d wear it in summer, but it’s a definite yes for cool nights. It’s an intense, powdery lilac floral. I guess the original must be better since this is the equivalent. One of my favorites since it launched; it surpassed the original Chloe EDP which I adore, but maybe it’s too subtle for me. I’ve been hooked on violets and powdery florals; they gifted me Gucci Guilty EDP for Christmas, and they’re on the same line—not identical, but they remind me of it a lot. Another favorite from the first sniff. I’m rediscovering lilac flowers and going to focus my collection on them. Please, the folks at Chloe, bring back this miracle and let me know!
For me, this is a dream come true: finding it sealed in full 2025. I took the risk, and it was worth it—the fragrance is in perfect condition. It’s floral, talcum-powdery, clean, and refined. At first, there’s a green note that turns slightly bitter due to the African orange. In the heart, lilacs and iris make it powdery, softened by hyacinth and heliotrope. As it dries down, it smells like fine soap or elegant incense, which I absolutely love. It’s intense, projects well, and leaves a trail, though it fades significantly once it settles. The bottle is sophisticated—a 1970s feminine flask that evokes a determined, elegant, vintage woman. I agree with the previous review: it’s similar to Gucci Guilty Pour Femme; they share notes, and the Gucci bottle seems inspired by this one. It could be a perfect substitute, just in a more modern version.
Finally finished this bottle! I’ve had it for years and it took me forever to get through it; I have no idea why I bought it in the first place. I barely used it and soon tossed it in a drawer because I just didn’t feel like it. On the plus side, it lasts forever on skin. I love florals, but the white ones; this was too intense for me, so I use it at home as a room freshener.🤦🏻
