  • The Turkish version of Keiko Mecheri’s take on that legendary dessert. After checking out Traversee du Bosphore, I saw that several houses have their own version of this sweet, and Keiko has Loukhoum with two flankers; I’ve only tried this one. It’s a bomb of honey, roses, almonds, and a ton of powder. Super sweet, the honey is very strong, and if your skin doesn’t accept it, it can smell animalic—I get that, but I don’t dislike it. I love it, I have a small splash, and it lasts forever because I only need to apply a little; the longevity is huge and the sillage is good. It’s not easy on the general palate, it’s very heavy and could result in being cloying, plus powdery; once someone said it smelled like an old lady’s perfume, but well, with anyone who only uses Axe, I have nothing to discuss xD, but I understand why they said it, it has a vintage touch like it’s from another era, oh how beautiful it is! :3

As the name indicates, Loukhoum is that Turkish delight, Keiko Mecheri’s interpretation. I have a decant and have tried it a couple of times; to me, it doesn’t smell like Turkish delight, but like ‘Baklava’: phyllo dough with lots of honey, pistachios, and/or walnuts, that’s what I perceive. It’s sweet but not as cloying as I thought, I clearly smell white honey (not as potent as others I’ve tried) and it has a floral note like violets with talc and roses, not too penetrating but perceptible. Of course, there’s that soft, sweet nutty scent (pistachios, almonds). The combination is divine, excellent longevity and sillage, 2-3 sprays are more than enough.

As the name suggests, Loukhoum is that Turkish delight, or as Cnidaria put it, Keiko Mecheri’s take on it. I have a decant and have tried it a couple of times; to me, it doesn’t smell like generic Turkish delight, but specifically like ‘baklava’: that phyllo dough loaded with lots of honey, pistachios, and/or walnuts. It’s sweet, but not cloying as I expected. I clearly detect a lot of honey, I think white honey, less potent than others I’ve tried, with a floral touch of violets, talc, and subtle but present roses. Of course, there’s that soft, sweet nutty scent (pistachios, almonds). The combination is divine, with excellent longevity and sillage; 2 or 3 sprays are more than enough.
