Loewe’s move in perfumery is worrying, just like Yves Saint Laurent’s, but even more so with these ‘Sport’ editions. It’s just grapefruit, lavender, and something they call ‘sea water,’ which smells salty. It has nothing to do with the classic Pour Homme. On me, it doesn’t last more than two hours, not even close to the skin. It’s surprising that it’s so expensive for offering so little. I don’t recommend it: it’s pricey, lasts a tiny bit, and smells almost exclusively of grapefruit. There are fragrances that give much more for less.
A disappointment that barely lasts, and its trail is hardly noticeable, far from the Super 7 by Loewe, which is strong and long-lasting. What a pity and an unnecessary expense; the bottle is the best part, with that red leather figure to collect. I’d use it to sleep in after a shower.
Buy the Pour Homme and forget this thing! The ‘sportification’ of Loewe’s classics was unnecessary. The result is grotesque: they took the originals and coated them in a synthetic, metallic varnish. Four times over and done with. I only tried the late flankers of Pour Homme and Esencia and wonder if I’ve had enough. While the classics smell like quality, these smell cheap, like bad cheap. They look like a bad imitation, not an original initiative.
They already discontinued it, and the world lost nothing. It was like the Loewe Pour Homme but focused on the sea (the ‘Sport’ version is pure marketing) with a salty note and musky lavender reminiscent of Armani Acqua di Giò Profondo EDP. The Armani lasts longer, obviously. Ideal for spring or summer mornings. The best part is the old-school 2000s design.
If you come across it, don’t hesitate: for the current heat, this beats everything else out there. It’s masculine, with a green, aromatic, and marine base. Imagine a fougere loaded with basil and a fresh touch of the sea. If Xerjoff had launched it, they’d charge you 200 bucks and you’d still be happy; here, it exudes elegance and class in spades.
