It starts with a very prominent wine and rum note, almost vinegary and acidic. Then, myrrh and labdanum bring a smoky vibe, while opoponax sweetens the base with a wet earth effect, like truffle. The initial alcohol fades gradually to make way for the balsamic nuances of the resins. The wine remains present but isn’t as overwhelming at first. In the dry down, it settles into a blend of smoky and sweet. Performance is good—perhaps one of the brand’s best—with acceptable longevity and notable projection in the first few hours. I see this more for men’s skin and in cool or temperate climates. It hasn’t won me over, but it’s curious and original. The opening is a bit off-putting, but it improves over time, leaving a pleasant final impression. I wouldn’t buy it myself, but I’d recommend trying it, especially to those who enjoy discovering unique scents.
