  Citrine starts soft with sweetened myrrh, elemi, and beeswax, accented by citrus and plenty of pepper. But that sweetness fades quickly, leaving a smoky, spicy woody base. The downside is that the citrus and resinous top notes evaporate, making the scent boring and nearly linear until the end. Plus, the performance is weak: short longevity and projection. I can barely smell it unless I press my nose right against my wrists. The notes aren’t synthetic or low quality, but in something so ethereal, it’s hard to tell. I see it more as a men’s fragrance, usable in any weather because it’s inoffensive and almost odorless. Personally, I didn’t like it; it doesn’t smell bad, but the little I can catch doesn’t attract me. At that price with poor performance, I’m giving it a pass.
