King by Bharara

I don’t get the hype. It smells very synthetic, strong, and aggressive, not easy to like. If this is what Erba Pura smells like, I’d never buy it. The only thing I admire is that it’s the most ‘beast mode’ I’ve tried: over 12 hours of longevity with 6-7 hours of projection. I don’t recommend it; I gifted it because some people like that kind of scent. Scent: 6/10, Longevity: 1000/10, Sillage: 1000/10, Price: 7/10, Final Score: 6/10.

I bought this before Erba Pura, and they’re very similar, though I notice more vanilla here. It feels more masculine than the original. Longevity and projection are beastly, but I still prefer Erba Pura.

Does anyone remember the scent of Booba Loo? This fragrance keeps that fruity bubblegum note but in a seductive mode, or at least tries to. I feel the musk is way too prominent; for me, it smells like freshly laundered and ironed clothes. It’s not that musk is a bad smell, but it doesn’t stand out from cheap detergent. We call this ‘shouty musk.’ With a touch of common vanilla, like the kind in Stronger, nothing elaborate. It’s fine in that regard, a bit fresh, but I wouldn’t wear it in the heat because it’s too sweet. Sometimes the sweetness makes me salivate, I don’t know why. It’s a somewhat misunderstood fragrance; maybe layering it would yield something interesting, but for now, this is meant to be worn as a base.

I had the chance to try it on skin and heard all the good things the seller said. However, after giving it a spin, I found it to be a very raw and overly intense fragrance. At first, it seemed pleasant, but over time, it started to become overwhelming. I bought a spray on a piece of paper from the store and keep it in one of my closets; for at least a week, every time I opened the closet, the base scent hit me in the face. Personally, I prefer fragrances that are a bit more subtle and refined.

Here in Chile, the ‘flaites’ or ‘pendejos’ wear it as if it were the best perfume in the world, ending up overwhelming the place with a pseudo-Erba Pura smell. Totally unpleasant. I don’t understand the good rating it has. Surely they rate it as good simply because it’s unbearably strong and associate quality with longevity or projection.

To conclude, this isn’t an Arabic or designer perfume—it’s niche because it’s from the house Bharara, which exclusively makes perfumes, no accessories or clothing, as they explicitly state on their site. I don’t know why some social media reviewers get it wrong or speak from ignorance without doing proper research. This is the most affordable niche perfume on the market, and it truly smells niche—refined and expensive-smelling for a fraction of the cost. This perfume has no flaws; you’ll receive non-stop compliments. If you don’t have it yet, don’t wait any longer; add it to your collection and use it whenever you need to. If you run out quickly, just buy more and keep it for life. It’s one of the few perfumes worth buying over and over. You’ll thank me later.

I started by testing the decants and the Erba Pura dupe, and honestly, the Bharara won for me. Its sweetness isn’t as overpowering as the Xerjoff; the fruit notes in the Erba feel more realistic and defined, while the Bharara is more linear. If you’re not a pro, your nose might think they’re the same, but trust me, the overall impression is totally different. It’s surprising how similar they are, and I have to say, the King lasted longer than the niche version. Verdict: go for this one, you won’t be disappointed.

It’s the best of the ‘Arabic fashion’ scene (even though I found out it’s made in the US). I’ll quote a YouTuber who said about this perfume: ‘it pushes you a step forward, giving you an extra boost of confidence.’ The longevity is insane, and it clings to your clothes and skin. I have a lot of affection for it.

Actually, I have the Bharara King Parfum. They’re quite similar, but the Parfum is supposed to be much more concentrated. I tested the King at a perfumerie; I liked it, but it didn’t knock me out, and it felt very masculine. However, a few days ago at another store, I tested the Parfum and fell in love at first sniff. They sprayed it on my clothes, and 48 hours later, it still smelled fresh. I ran out to buy it. The notes are a mystery—they aren’t listed on Fragrantica or the Bharara website—but you can definitely smell the sandalwood, the fruits, and something deeper in the base that I can’t quite decipher. It feels much more balanced than the King and more unisex. Perfect for all seasons. Hopefully, they add it to Fragrantica soon.

I have the Parfum version, the most intense in the line. It’s definitely a beast mode, a pleasant fruity bomb, though it can be a bit overwhelming in its longevity, so don’t overspray and treat it with respect. But it’s very well executed.

Why hasn’t Bharara King Parfum been added yet? It’s been on the market for two years.

Excellent fragrance for the price, the cost-to-quality ratio is very good. However, I have an issue with the notes: I detect herbal tones, but the brand doesn’t declare any. In fact, I think it shares that masculine mid-note that helps with projection. Sometimes I think it might be a variety of patchouli, but I’m not sure. It seems to give the perfume body, along with the fruity notes.
