Khaox by Darkbeat Parfums

Many commercial houses would kill to have fragrances with the olfactory quality, development, and performance of Darkbeat’s scents. Khaox is extremely original, surprising, and has great evolution. The first time, it left me a bit thrown off, but with subsequent uses, I never stopped being amazed. It has a very citrusy, even acidic opening, with the green touch of mint and a subtle hint of rum. These notes incredibly recreate a mojito accord that accompanies us throughout the development, although sometimes just as a burst. In the heart, the lily of the valley stands out, but it will be the resinous and sweet amber that gradually takes over until it’s what remains on the skin. This amber comes with a musk that sits between carnal and clean, very pleasant. It’s potent and has great body. I rarely say that four sprays are enough, but this is one of those cases. The trail is notable and lasts more than 24 hours. It projects a lot for the first 6-7 hours and then clings to the skin, but it stays there for a very long time. It’s unisex, although personally, I’d prefer it on male skin. I think it can be pleasant in all seasons: the mojito screams summer, but the resinous and sweet dry-down screams winter. A great work by Darkbeat and highly recommended. A green opening on full blast with a bitter citrus peel that floods you and opens your senses to what’s coming (and without any pepper). Shortly after, the amber and sexy musk come out and will last a total of 7 hours; from time to time, you catch a hint of sweet rum, or a breeze of green fig, or maybe mint. These three notes dance at different times around the amber and musk, tempting them into a trio, but none breaks the duo that is the true protagonist. Unisex. 100% versatility. All four seasons, except perhaps very hot days due to the potent opening. Night and day, it’s great.

What a thrill to try perfumes from our beloved Darkbeat. The moment I sprayed it, I noticed the citrus notes; it feels very fresh, and as time passes, it evolves so much… It’s like the opening starts shy and gradually makes itself noticed. I don’t know much about notes, but the quality is evident. Maybe I perceive it as more feminine in the opening and then more unisex. I mainly see it for high temperatures. Well done. Edit: to add that I don’t like mint and plants, and here it is so well balanced that it doesn’t bother me at all.

Khaox is different: green, fresh, citrusy, and aromatic. The opening, with rum, lime, and peppermint, smells like a mojito and transports me straight to a summer beach day. Excellent perfume. I won’t comment on specific notes because I’m not qualified to do so, but I perceive a wonderful smell of dampness, like a corner of a garden a while after a summer rain. Despite that, it has a warm undertone that reminds me (incredibly, since they don’t resemble each other in freshness) of Tabu by Dana, probably due to the amber and musk notes. I really liked it.
