This isn’t a perfume. It’s simply a smell. You can mix components and get a smell. That’s what came out of this. And you can identify it with whatever you want. In this case, with suede, with plastic, with a new car smell, with a petroleum derivative, etc. And look, I like the smell of gasoline, alcohol, flax, turpentine, a new book, furniture, paint, varnish, and glue. But I don’t consider them suitable for perfuming my skin or clothes. But if you like to be perfumed in the morning in that style, buy it. If not, don’t.
Definitely a unisex perfume. I bought a decant because they say it has a similarity to Babycat (which I haven’t tried). The opening is strong and masculine, however the drydown is sweet. In its drydown, I don’t dislike it; in fact, at 30 minutes it’s quite pleasant, but it doesn’t fully convince me. I recommend testing it on skin and letting it dry. Perhaps it leans more towards the feminine side. I won’t buy the full bottle. EDIT: I bought a decant of Rifaaqat, supposedly a better clone of Babycat. And when comparing them honestly, I prefer Ishq Al Shuyukh. Neither is my type of aroma. Rifaaqat smells like a church, while Ishq Al Shuyukh has a more balanced drydown.
I must say that on the first day I only perceived leather and suede; I even came to believe it wasn’t for me and that I had made a mistake in the purchase, to the point of thinking about gifting it. I had applied it to my neck and arm. The next morning, on my arm, I felt a sweet and super pleasant scent that, once I identified it, I haven’t stopped perceiving it, even from the very first moment I apply it, and I must say it’s one of my favorite fragrances. I would recommend applying it on the arm and letting it sit on the skin for a few hours so the other notes can be detected and gradually that burnt plastic sensation disappears.
This perfume is very rich and very strong; I think winter is the most suitable climate to wear it.
This perfume isn’t for everyone. If you smell it before applying it, it smells sweet and powdery, but it’s not a common scent. Once applied, leather, vanilla, and the sweetness dominate. I wore it to the beach to test it. Surprisingly, the scent persisted even under sunscreen. Even in the sea and under the sun, I could perceive it. I showered and still smelled the perfume lingering in light bursts, like vanilla milk and some spices, very pleasant. I’d never perceived the leather note in any perfume before, and it’s different, with character and elegance. Another blind buy that paid off! Act: I’ve been using it for a week. Its potency is comparable to Amethyst. Scent bursts last until after 10 hours. Towards the end of the day, the predominant leather or suede fades, and you feel a very subtle vanilla and that spicy note. It doesn’t cause olfactory fatigue. It’s a powerful, characterful perfume, I reiterate. Sweet, but not for someone young, rather mature. And I definitely think it could be unisex. I recommend it.
I’m not a fan of sweet or spicy fragrances, but I bought this to gift to my mother (she even wears my Oud for Glory, she loves everything sweet, spicy, and woody). I tested it and was pleasantly surprised: the fragrance is very friendly, not cloying or a weird smell; it smells like a new car with leather seats (and those seats are perfumed with vanilla). I have sweet perfumes in my collection that I find use for occasionally, but I tested this in summer (I’m from Paraguay and the heat is 33 to 41 degrees, with humidity over 60%), surprisingly it didn’t give me olfactory fatigue or seem heavy to me, I emphasize: I’m not a fan of sweet or spicy things. The price is quite friendly; they should really sniff this fragrance.
Leather, caramel, amber, saffron, suede, musk, tonka bean, and vanilla. Ishq Al Shuyukh Gold is an exotic fragrance and a reflection of the blend of cultures in its everyday moments.
My first Arabic perfume. After trying several of the most hyped ones on skin and not being convinced, the bottle in the store caught my attention. I tested it on my arm and it was love at first sight! I can’t stop smelling it; I’m fascinated by that soft leather…! I’m letting it oxidate a bit until winter because its longevity on my skin makes me doubt a little… we’ll see! Question: Has anyone tried Homem Dom by Natura? To my inexperienced nose, they seem similar, the Homem Dom without the leather of the Ishq, but they share components like vanilla, tonka bean, and musk. I think they start very similarly, then converge at some point on the journey before taking their own paths.
Lattafa’s Ishq Al Shuyukh Gold smells amazing, blending suede and vanilla perfectly. It’s not that hard leather like Tom Ford’s Ombre Leather; here it’s much softer and more accessible, ideal even for those who aren’t into the style. I think it’s a super interesting option for cold weather, autumn, and why not, some springs too. Its performance is top-notch, both in longevity and projection. I recommend it, but test it first. Friends and acquaintances have praised it, though some say the opening isn’t as friendly.
It’s a beast. I own many, and this is one of the most unique. Lasts and projects incredibly. Great price-to-quality ratio. It’s for those who appreciate fragrances that step outside the four designer olfactive families we see and smell so often. Not for everyone. Suede with vanilla, almost like old doll plastic, is genius but definitely niche vibes.
PERFUMON! Warm, sweet, and potent fragrance. I get tons of compliments (some people even get headaches). Very similar to Rosendo Mateu Nº5 but much softer. There are differences in note quality and the enveloping feel of the Rosendo, but overall it’s excellent. Warm, toasted, sweet but not sugary, balanced, and full-bodied thanks to the suede. Addictive!
In my opinion, this perfume captures the essence of Rosendo Mateu No. 5 incredibly well, almost identical. The saffron adds a touch that doesn’t detract at all, but rather gives the development an interesting complexity.
I bought it blind and didn’t like it at first; the scent felt a bit difficult. I stopped wearing it for a while and don’t know if it was oxidation or just getting used to it, but when I returned to it, I loved it: it felt much sweeter and the leather notes toned down, creating a spectacular combination. I’ve received many compliments from women; men have only been dismissive 😂
The Ishq Al Shuyukh Gold has a complicated scent for me. I don’t see myself wearing it or enjoying it. It feels strictly masculine, nothing unisex. Right after spraying, the alcohol hits hard but fades quickly. Then the real scent emerges: a mix of suede, leather, tonka bean, and a subtle caramel sweetness that takes over as it dries, joined by vanilla, making it more pleasant. Longevity isn’t great, barely 4 hours. Projection is good with noticeable bursts for about 3 hours. It’s for special, serious occasions, not partying. Bottom line: I don’t like the blend, but if you love serious, masculine scents, it’s a decent pick for the price.
Bottled elegance. Smells like a suit, leather, vanilla, and tonka bean. Sweet but not cloying; the leather balances everything perfectly. At $40, it’s an absolute bomb. Projects without being annoying; lasted 7 to 9 hours on my skin with strong projection for the first 3. From my perspective, everyone should own one for the quality-to-price ratio.
Smells great, exactly as described: smoky and sweet vanilla. Longevity and projection are amazing. For 35-40€, you won’t find anything close to it. Ideal for dates or events because it’s dense and sweet; I wouldn’t call it a signature scent, though—the Silver does that better. Some might not like it, but no fragrance is for everyone, just like I can’t stand Polo Blue or Invictus. Is it unisex? Yes, right in the middle. I smell it on a woman and I melt.
Reminds me of the same profile as Armani Code Profumo: slightly smoky leather with vanilla and a touch of sweetness.
I was surprised by the previous comments. Not crazy for the beach—it’s a bomb of suede, vanilla, leather, tonka bean, and caramel! Delicious but heavy, ideal for cold weather, night, or outdoors since it can be overwhelming indoors. Another point: someone said it didn’t last, but this projects insanely; you walk through a delicious cloud of smoky vanilla. And third: it’s not masculine; it’s unisex and very sexy. Many men think women only like delicate florals, but gentlemen, I wear this and feel strong, noticeable, and confident. If you like vanillas, try it. It lasts over 12 hours on skin and clothes.
Incredible perfume, smells delicious. That vanilla is simply spectacular.
The sweet contrast between the vanilla and that dark leather is top-tier balance. Reminds me of Tom Ford’s Tobacco Vanille or its clones; that vanilla note paired with a contrasting element creates something perfectly balanced and addictive. It’s not a beast mode, nor does it need to be. The projection and longevity are more than enough for this style.
It’s not my favorite, but the one that gave me the most compliments.
Smells like vanilla and leather. Very long-lasting, lots of compliments. Period.
A perfume that has nothing to envy from the niches (in fact, it reminds me a lot of Rosendo Mateu 5 or YSL’s Babycat). It smells like burnt rubber mixed with lots of vanilla. The leather is suede-like, but it’s not the protagonist, so don’t expect something like Gucci Guilty Absolute. Nuclear projection: you fill the room when you walk in and keep releasing bursts. Use few sprays; with so few, people might tell you you overdid it. I wouldn’t use it on a date because you could overwhelm them. Ideal for outdoor night events or when you want to stand out. For those looking to catch attention and attract comments, both good and bad. No one will remain indifferent.
In short, it’s suede leather with a rubbery style and a vanilla touch. On my skin, the vanilla doesn’t stand out. The caramel opening is almost imperceptible, a sweetness that’s there and isn’t, just like the saffron. The first 15 seconds smell like alcohol, let them pass without bringing your nose close. It’s not very complex, but one of the few Arab scents that don’t need maceration: I sprayed myself three times on my hand as soon as I opened it and it lasted almost 7 hours on skin, projecting for 2 to 2.5 hours. Good trail, between moderate and heavy, a dupe of Babycat, not Rosendo Mateu N5.
Hi, my opinion: My god, what nonsense have I read before… If you don’t like it, okay, no problem. But I don’t understand the hate against this fragrance… Is it to confuse people so no one buys it? At the opening, the first 15/20 minutes it smells like childish toy plastic, typical of candies, but not unpleasant. Then the dry-down is the magic: it will accompany you on skin and clothes a lot, wash it twice. It’s an incredible fragrance with excellent longevity and projection. To the simple nose, it’s a terribly exquisite mix of vanilla and leather. Totally unisex, devastating trails, and incredibly rich. I can understand if you don’t like it, but not to bash it like I’ve read (not everyone, watch out). I’m going for my second bottle, both from 2023, I don’t know if it suffered reformulation (I hope not). It’s for night or cold climates, in my opinion it calls for good clothing. A gem from the immense Lattafa stock. Try first, always. Cheers.
Sweet bomb, let it dry because it smells like alcohol at first. Once it dries, the magic begins, like any good Arabic perfume. It’s suede leather with rich vanilla; you can notice the caramel and saffron if you look for them, but they blend well. It’s not very complex and is easy to like. Totally for winter and night, special events, or even the club due to its intensity.
I recommend it for the office or neutral, enclosed spaces. The leather and bitter-sweet touch make it unique. If you’re tired of popular fragrances, this is your option to stand out. I wanted to buy it blind, but the alcohol hit and the sour dry-down in the store didn’t agree with me. It’s not for me, but it will surely work for others.
What a beast of a perfume! Perfect for going out at night in elegant clothes, it turns heads and you’ll be full of compliments. It’s sweet, modern, and rich, but different from everything out there now. Scent, longevity, projection, and price: 10/10. I have it all (niche, Arabic, designer), and it’s worth it.
Wonderful scent, better than I expected. Smells like light leather and strong vanilla, ideal for going out at night, the movies, or dinner. Scent 10/10, longevity 8/10.
Better not to say it, smells like a rag doll at first and then dark vanilla. I don’t smell the leather at all, maybe my bottle is already reformulated. The longevity is short, lasting a few hours like a personal bubble, but it’s perfect for autumn or winter.
It resembles Rosendo, but also a lot like Tom Ford Eau de Toilette Leather. The heart is more Rosendo and the base more Tom Ford. Note: very good fragrance with great longevity. The only downside is the first 5 seconds smell alcoholic, but that’s it. I’m glad I bought it; I already own the other two, but if I’d known the quality of this one, I probably wouldn’t have bought the others. LEATHER VANILLA, what a wonder!
I had it for two weeks and didn’t like it. I wore it on hot days and then in cold rain, outdoors and indoors; it never convinced me. I asked my family to smell it, and they said: ‘If you can, swap it so you don’t lose money.’ As they say here: ‘DITCH THAT SHIT, BUDDY!’ I didn’t hesitate to exchange it. You only notice the caramel, which kills the cheap plastic smell it leaves on everything—skin and clothes. It doesn’t last almost anything, like an hour, and doesn’t project even if you reapply. It’s trash, period. Not recommended, I know perfumes; I own over 100, and this one is NO.
Most perfumes I buy blind end up liking them, but not this one; I had to gift it. None of my family or friends liked it. It’s undoubtedly the worst I’ve owned; I’m not saying it’s bad, just that I don’t like it.
🪞Review: Ishq Al Shuyukh Gold (2023). If you wanted to try something like Rosendo Mateu without spending your whole paycheck, this could work. It opens with warm caramel and spiced saffron, luxurious without excess. Then soft suede and velvety leather appear, sensual and adult. At first, it gave me a plastic smell, like the notes weren’t integrating; I left it in the closet, and over time it matured, becoming round, elegant, and balanced. Tonka bean, vanilla, amber, and musk create a warm, enveloping base. It doesn’t shout; it whispers elegance. Performance: not a bomb, but it lasts well on skin and doesn’t fade on clothes. I, being a woman, wear it without issues: totally unisex, balanced, and addictive. An adult dressing scent, perfect for autumn and winter, comfortable at work without being heavy.
You always have to waste about 10 sprays before judging, especially with these affordable ones or tobacco/leather scents, because at first they smell like plastic or gasoline and don’t show their true nature. That said: what a great aroma! I perceive the blend of top and heart: intense caramel and leather or suede. As it dries, vanilla and amber appear. It’s an aromatic sweetness, not sugary like a candle. At times I detect a rubber doll scent, but in its best version. I don’t know the RM 5 it’s said to be inspired by, but on its own, it’s worth a lot. It’s different from commercial stuff. It’s intense, not the Beast (Feb 2024 batch). Moderate longevity on skin, but improves on clothes (almost 24h). If it’s oxygenated, it’ll improve soon. Great purchase.
My first impression was unexpected: upon spraying, it smelled like new dolls, plastic, and caramel, transporting me back to childhood. I didn’t expect something so sweet. As it settles, it evolves into suede and vanilla, warmer and deeper. It’s hard at first; it’s not for easy signature scents. I see it as vintage, thanks to that mental trip to the past. I tested it for 3 days: day 1 was love/hate, day 2 I understood, day 3 I enjoyed it. It lasts forever and projects strongly, so if you overdo it, you saturate. Only for cold climates, not for daily wear. Better for formal events where its elegance shines. Recommend with caution: it’s not love at first sight; you need to test it on skin and give it time. It’s special, not for everyone, but once you understand it, it conquers you.
I don’t own Rosendo or Babycat, but if they smell better than this beast, don’t bother buying them. 🤡 I decided to pick it up when Eduardo from My Scent Journey, with his expert niche nose, mistook it for those two. It’s one of my favorite warm scents; I always get compliments. The bottle is heavy with a solid metal cap, top-tier quality; people swear it’s worth four figures. Note: if you don’t like sweet or unconventional scents, skip it. Exquisite from the start. Saffron gives it that petroly note, but the creamy caramel makes it super addictive. 🤤 After 40 minutes, the plastic settles and the leather emerges—not harsh, but gentle and velvety, with tonka bean. Finally, it’s vanilla-forward, warm like a good coat. Perfect for cold days or rain, special occasions, or just for the love of it. 🥶 I highly recommend it; it’s one of Lattafa’s best. Indoors, max 5 sprays; outdoors, as much as you can tolerate. 🥴
What a distinguished and seductive fragrance! The dry-down on skin is insane—an aroma you can’t stop smelling, wow! Although leather isn’t my thing, here it shines because it blends with exquisite vanilla and caramel, creating something enveloping. Buy it, your nose will thank you. PERFUMON!
I tried it in-store: vanilla and leather opening, but once it dries, it smells like burnt rubber.
Leather and suede with vanilla, so delicious! I loved it, especially on men.
