Hard Candy is that fruity-gourmand scent that starts bright and acidic with a hint of tea. Rhubarb and passion fruit dominate the opening until the passion fruit fades, giving way to the caramel-vanilla duo. Flowers appear slightly in the dry down, but very faintly, lurking behind the creamy caramel which is the star. It’s sweet without being cloying; the rhubarb’s acidity balances everything perfectly. It’s very similar to Al Rehab’s Soft, but here lime is swapped for rhubarb. It also reminds me of Pink Sugar in the dry down, though Hard Candy is lighter and less harsh. Longevity and sillage are moderate, and I think it works best in cooler climates, ideal for the summer-fall transition with warm days and cool nights.
