  Fragrantica’s notes are brief but the official Al Haramain website clarifies everything: top notes of geranium lemon rose ylang-ylang bergamot mango plum pine and milk; heart of cedar rose ginger cinnamon saffron jasmine ylang-ylang and sandalwood; base of sandalwood amber patchouli musk Gurjum balsam Gaiac wood oud cyperus vanilla and cedar. Truth be told this perfume caught me off guard. I expected a potent oil typical of what I’ve tried but it shattered my myth: it’s soft and delicate. It’s the most refined attar I’ve ever tested. The opening is a very subtle fruity-citrus rose almost skin-scented nothing flashy—more of an intimate aroma for personal enjoyment. The citrus and fruity notes evaporate quickly leaving the rose embraced by faint slightly spicy woods. What stands out is that this rose scent isn’t common and certainly not the type wrongly associated with older women; to me it smells like the miniature roses my grandmother grew in her garden those tiny ones with countless petals that flooded the nights with their fragrance. It brought back so many childhood memories. As the initial floral aroma fades a very soft sweet and creamy woody scent remains. The oud is barely noticeable at least not as I know it from other perfumes. An extremely delicate and precious perfume. I own the oil version and its longevity is typical for this type—very good lasting over 8 hours on my skin though almost always close to the skin. Still a beautiful intimate scent. Being light and fresh it’s highly versatile suitable for any occasion or time of day. The perfume is unisex though it leans slightly feminine; I’d love to wear it on a woman but I can’t deny that as a man I enjoy wearing it too.
