  Halston Man has completely captivated me. As a fan of Z-14 and 1-12 from the house, I dove into it after reading reviews on English forums. It’s the updated version of 1-12, adapted to today’s fruity and gourmet trends while respecting the house’s DNA. It takes that previous base to create something super balanced, bright, and aromatic, with fruity, yellow, and sweet notes resting on a pure, balanced green base, like a shy 1-12. It’s much less wild than its older sibling; Man layers floral and sweet fruity notes over a slightly camphorated base, less complex than 1-12 but similar, making it feel less mature and much more modern and versatile. It’s not an all-season scent, but it’s a substantial fragrance for rainy days and semi- or formal evening wear, working perfectly through autumn where its sweet, mentholated, and fruity greenery refreshes the air in an addictive, magical way, and in winter, it lasts all day. With all due caution against buying based on hype, I confess I’ve fallen deeply in love with this fragrance that breaks ground with everything the Carlos Benaim DNA entails, and at 7 years since its launch, it stands alongside greats like Terre d’Hermès or Declaration d’un Soir. It’s a scent for bold tastes with an old-school focus but modernity and brightness, like For Him by Narciso Rodriguez. Halston Man… highly recommended.
