I tried this this morning on the way to work, and a colleague I don’t usually see immediately started complimenting me until he turned around to ask what perfume I was wearing; he thought it was Hermes! He said he loved it and that the opening reminded him of the bergamot in one of theirs. I clarified the name (which isn’t available here) and mentioned it felt similar to D&G’s Light Blue but more woody. Afterward, checking the Fragrantica profile, I realized what he took for bergamot was actually the kumquat, which is very intense at first. I don’t detect the blackcurrants or florals; instead, I smell kumquat with woody notes, amber, and musk from start to finish. It’s super fresh and energetic, almost “bubbly,” with excellent longevity (about 12 hours without reapplication) and moderate sillage. Even though it still resembles Light Blue, what makes it unique is the kumquat’s prominence, which is delicious on my skin. Another plus is the price ($35 for 100 ml online). I’ll keep using it, especially in heat because it’s very refreshing. I recommend it if you like citrus and fresh fragrances without any sweetness. It’s refined and I think it suits all ages.
