This is the bottle that evokes the 40th anniversary of the fragrance’s birth. It’s the same fragrance, not a reissue or anything like that (no reformulation or such stories).
A wonderful woody and foresty perfume to the max. Warm and elegant, classic yet modern, I love it. It has such a richness of plant and wood ingredients (conifers, fir, cedar…) that it creates a new aroma that conveys great sophistication. I’m sad they redesigned the bottle because that implies some kind of reformulation, and I’m already hearing complaints. Classic and timeless Loewe, like a good mahogany piece of furniture passed down from generation to generation.
The best fougère. If perfumes were sold based on the real cost of their ingredients, this would be one of the most expensive in the world. With over 100 ingredients, this fragrance is a classic for grown men: suit, tie, high-end barbershop, shaving cream, lotion, and character, all in one bottle. No perfume should be bought blindly, and certainly not this one, which has the same perfumery quality as Bleu de Chanel (though it’s a different scent) but with much more personality. Bleu is like Julio Iglesias with horchata in his veins; this is Tom Jones freshly shaven, radiating the scent of his skin along with the world’s most expensive after shave.
My favorite fougère, also my preferred fragrance from Loewe, and I have more than 20. Ultra versatile, a classic that will never go out of style.
One of the richest fougères in the world. The quality is incredible, and the blend of woods and green notes is perfected. It was my grandfather’s signature scent since I can remember, and wearing it feels like traveling back in time to sitting and chatting with him. Undoubtedly, a work of art.
I still remember the scent my mother gave me years ago… I never liked it, so I gave it to my dad. I never understood its aroma, but maybe 20 years later, I’ll like it more… I’ll have to try it. I usually steer clear of perfumes with so many notes combined; I never see the point in mixing so many scents. For me, they tend to create chaos and synthetic smells.
I don’t know why I only listed this 2014 anniversary edition and not the original… how do you add a perfume to the Fragrantica database?
