Descripción
Franck Boclet's Café is a spicy oriental fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2019, this composition is signed by Bruno Herve. The top notes unfold a vibrant accord of coffee, bergamot, and lemon; the heart reveals a woody floral with lily of the valley, rosemary, orange blossom, and rose; while the base settles on a warm, earthy foundation of moss, patchouli, sandalwood, vanilla, amber, cedar, and vetiver.

It’s worth noting that the name promises something different from what you actually get. Boclet’s Cafe has an androgynous aesthetic with fresh, slightly bitter citrus and floral notes that shift in the heart, where it becomes very floral and warm. It seems almost hidden, like our own coffee, yet it’s perceptible throughout the fragrance’s evolution. In the base, it turns quite deep and slightly acidic, likely due to the vetiver and moss. Boclet seems like an interesting designer, considering how they play with note combinations. Overall quality is satisfactory, with the coffee playing nicely against the floral notes.
I think this is a true niche-quality perfume from a brand that deserves much more recognition and isn’t very well-known or appreciated, at least in Spain. The coffee scent is strange and potent, blending intense coffee notes with green/earthy accords that steer it away from sweetness and elevate its complexity, making it not for everyone. It feels more masculine, though scents shouldn’t really be gendered. Personally, it was a great discovery, and I keep it in my collection for cold, crisp days. It has a bold, challenging side that surprised me. Finally, the aroma closest to coffee appears once it dries down and settles; the opening can be a bit startling due to its sharpness. It’s not a bomb or overly projecting, but it has good longevity and is clearly for personal enjoyment.
