Descripción

Cocaïne by Franck Boclet is an aromatic fragrance from the 2017 collection, designed for men and women. Its olfactory pyramid opens with top notes of caramel, tobacco, bitter orange, and red berries; the heart reveals neroli, lily of the valley, and orchid; and the base settles on Monoi oil, vanilla, and patchouli.

For vinyl lovers and fans of the 70s/80s, Franck Boclet creates the Rock & Riot Collection, inspired by songs from that era, capturing the essence of the notes and reinterpreting them olfactively. Cocaine celebrates freedom, instinct, and rebellion. Sensual like the skin of a biker vest, it slides and etches itself onto the skin like a record, reaching the heart like a trapped, dreamy woman who decides to own a man. Be careful, it’s a woman with a romantic soul and a malicious mind; she will provoke you and lead you to do things you don’t want. Again, Boclet blinds me; I hesitated for the first 20 minutes because it’s so strange. I expected something purely masculine, but I found a rebellious and provocative fragrance, transgression brought to perfume. It doesn’t ask for permission, it presents itself shamelessly, and you can’t escape it. Full of bold contrasts: opening of tobacco, caramel, and something reminiscent of coca leaves, mixed with orange and red berries; a floral heart of orchid, lily, and tuberose; a warm base of patchouli, vanilla, and monoi, exotic and soft. Longevity is good, less so the projection; I expected something more punchy for the price. It deserves a try, it’s an aroma outside the usual standards and I’ve enjoyed it.

I love it. It’s very original and different. It has a synthetic edge but a very pleasant one. Basically, it’s caramelized tuberose with a citrus touch of orange and a tropical vibe from the monoi oil. It’s like a Malle Carnal Flower but sweeter and less green, or a Gucci Bloom with better quality. Longevity is high, normal for 40% concentration, but the projection is short, which might increase its versatility. I see it as unisex, though it will hit harder on many men. Scent: 10, Longevity: 8.5, Projection: 7, Value: 5, Versatility: 7, Originality: 9, Overall: 9.5.

A very powerful beast. Smells like a garden of white flowers, very intense vanilla (nothing sweet) combined with an aspirin note, which is probably why it got the name Cocaine. Although I don’t like it much, it does get compliments.

If someone tells you this fragrance smells like mothballs or bad breath, they’re either not paying attention or they sprayed it on a piece of paper and washed it off after 10 minutes. I tested it with my mom, and it was funny: without even knowing it, she went through all the stages of the reviewers and recognized the notes. It’s very evolving, especially from the initial sweet white floral. While people complain about the mothball scent, it’s just a trailer truck bringing in the real star: the neroli. It smells incredibly much like neroli, super elegant, fine, delicate, and precious. The mothball note fades in the background adding an ozonic and fresh touch. If you’re used to men’s perfumes, this will seem feminine to you, but I, a heterosexual man with a collection of 100 perfumes, enjoy it immensely; it’s very refined, almost at the level of Alexandria II, radiating an intoxicating aura. Longevity: insane, I sprayed it on my hand and 18 hours later I could still smell it. Projection: compliments started at 3 steps away. Recommendation: if you like feminine florals, you’ll love it; if not, test it first.

If someone says it smells like mothballs or rotten breath, they either didn’t give it a chance or it vanished in ten minutes. I tested it on my mother, and even though she didn’t know the fragrance, she recognized the evolving notes just like in the videos; it’s very dynamic, especially right after application. Contrary to what reviewers say, it doesn’t smell like caramel, but rather a wild, sweet floral reminiscent of a rose petal. Then comes that mothball scent, yes, but it’s just a trailer bringing in the real star: neroli. It smells intensely of neroli—super elegant, refined, delicate, and precious. The mothball note sinks deeper, adding an ozonic, fresh touch. If you’re used to trendy men’s fragrances, this might seem feminine to you, but I, a heterosexual man with a collection of 100 perfumes including brands like Aqua Di Gio, absolutely love it; it’s sophisticated, almost on par with Alexandria II, and radiates an intoxicating aura. Longevity: incredible—I sprayed it on my hand and could still smell it 18 hours later. Sillage: compliments started coming in within three steps. Compliments: yes. Blind buy: if you enjoy feminine florals, you’ll adore it; otherwise, test it first.

I think if it’s not the most disgusting smell I’ve ever encountered, it’s close. It clings like a tick and smells nauseating. The name ‘Cocaine’ is just a gimmick to grab attention; the perfume is synthetic, invasive, and a total failure. It doesn’t smell like cocaine and it doesn’t smell good. I’d like to know which perfumer signed off on this atrocity; it’s no surprise they don’t advertise it.

  • I knew it would be controversial, but I don’t get the dismissive comments about this stunning floral-animalic, tropical, caramelized fragrance with vanilla and spectacular dry tobacco. Sometimes a scent just doesn’t suit everyone. It suits me perfectly; I’m absolutely thrilled when she wears it because it’s not for you, it’s for her: it takes her to the party, the club until 6 am, the after-party, and she keeps coming back because she won’t let you have a second. It’s your source of energy, like a drug. Frank Boclet’s cocaine, stay away, Aventus-style nonsense.

  • I knew it was controversial, but I don’t get the negative comments on this stunning floral, animalic, tropical, caramelized, vanilla, and dry tobacco blend. Sure, it doesn’t suit everyone, but it fits me perfectly. I’m absolutely ecstatic when I wear it; you don’t put it on, she puts it on you and takes you partying until 6 AM, to the after, and she comes back because she won’t let you go for a second. It’s your source of energy, like a drug. Cocaine by Boclet, stay away if you’re weak… Aventus.
