  1. May 1899 in the Paris Opera House lobby. During intermission, a group of seven young people gathers to flirt. Elegant, coquettish ladies are drawn to the fresh green scent of gardenias pinned to the lapels of men wearing lavender and bergamot colognes. As they approach, ‘the opera flower’ exudes its seductive aroma, declaring the elegance of a single flower sacrificed on a man’s lapel. This powerful soliflore with chypre nuances feels extremely natural and realistic, with a crisp green tone and no artifice. Although unisex, I find it very masculine due to its more woody dry-down and the seductive animalic touch from the dry oakmoss that extends the floral note until the very end, which suits boutonniere 7 perfectly, making the creator craft a charming and enchanting fragrance. B.7 has character, projects wonderfully for a long time; it’s true that it evolves very slowly, but if you like the scent of this white jasmine gardenia, you’ll succumb to its charms. Rating: 9.2
