Bois Datchai is my favorite from Maison Crivelli, and I think part of the reason is its rich, well-balanced tea note paired with a very appealing woody character. The blackcurrant and cinnamon add a sweet yet slightly tart dimension, while the cedar and guaiac woods lend depth and density to the scent. Up close, it sometimes reminds me of caraway (which happens with other tea-based fragrances), but the trail is spectacular and intoxicating. I see it as a more masculine, versatile scent suitable for any weather or occasion, with average performance. Like most Crivelli offerings, it’s an easy-to-love fragrance of high quality that doesn’t smell like anything else. I also think it’s worth trying as an introduction to the brand or as an alternative to other tea-based scents. Rating: 9/10
