Descripción

BLV Pour Homme by Bvlgari is a woody-spicy fragrance for men. Launched in 2001, this composition was created by perfumer Alberto Morillas. Its top notes of cardamom and sandalwood establish a warm and enveloping tone. The heart reveals a vibrant combination of ginger, juniper, and galangal, while the base settles on a sophisticated accord of tobacco flower, green leaves, and teakwood.

  • Very fresh and woody, smells clean. Versatile, ideal for daytime use. I’ve gotten lots of compliments. The opening is fresh and intense, a bit like Allure at first. Lasts about 6 hours, moderate sillage. My score: 7/10.

  • The ginger is noticeable without being spicy, with woody and aromatic notes over a clean, fresh base, not aquatic. It has a particular touch that makes it special, sophisticated, and even unisex, maybe it’s the tobacco flower. Longevity and sillage are average. It’s neat and harmless, discreet but attractive. It’s not as powdery or formal as Prada’s Infusion d’Homme; it’s more versatile for daily wear and doesn’t get monotonous.

Very good fragrance, masculine, elegant, and fresh. Highly recommended. I give it 8.5 out of 10.

  • I met this one 13 years ago; a family friend brought it to me and I connected with it instantly. It smells like you just stepped out of the shower, clean and pure. Then the ginger adds that little kick that makes you feel commanding. I recommend it; it shouldn’t be missing from any good fragrance lover’s collection.

Very pleasant, masculine, and elegant. Wearable in winter and summer. Opens strong with cardamomo and sandalwood, then turns powdery, woody, and herbal, with ginger in the middle. Highly recommended for those over 30.

  • Clean, summery, soft, and elegant. Refreshing like a blast of cold air. Imagine being at the beach at sunset, just showered, dressed up for the night, feeling handsome and well-groomed. That’s the exact feeling. I love it.

  • Espartaco

BLV is a gorgeous summer woody. Starts with fresh ginger and cardamomo, moves to wood, and finishes powdery with a cerulean touch and that vinyl note from the millennium-era perfumes. When I’m saturated with heavy ouds and leathers, this scent rests my nose and me, mesmerized by its simplicity. Morillas plays with four ingredients and shines through simplicity. Longevity and sillage are a bit weak, like the rest of the house.

  • One of my favorites, I bought it blind and loved it. I went for Morillas because Bvlgari doesn’t do nonsense. It’s an exquisite scent, delicate like luxury powder. The blue bottle evokes a fairytale, ethereal and dreamy, nothing cheesy. It reminds me of Van Cleef’s Midnight in Paris, two blue bottles looking like constellations. At first I thought it didn’t last, but my nose got used to it and now it’s persistent with soft bursts. Wearable anytime, no one minds. It’s the olfactory fantasy we had when we believed in the Three Kings. Score: 9. Scent: 9, Sillage: 7, Longevity: 8, Performance: 8.

Alberto Morillas proves his mastery of freshness again. BLV isn’t just another aquatic; it has that soapy, clean vibe with ginger as the star, giving it real character. Moderate projection, noticeable but not a beast. Works better for me, though some younger folks might not get it. Unmatched in its category. Scent: 8, Longevity: 7, Sillage: 7.

  • Unique, aromatic fragrance with a talcum-powder touch that gives it an atypical elegance. On my skin, the projection is moderate, the ginger stands out, and the longevity is high. I love it and recommend it to men who like exotic scents and contemporary tastes.

  • ALFREDOCP

Exquisite for everyday wear. Fresh, clean, and not overpowering. If it had a weak point, it would be its short longevity.

  • Mineradia

Very nice scent, but on my husband it lasts almost nothing. A maximum of an hour, and then it disappears.

  • Exquisite fragrance, subtle, creamy, and addictive. It’s a pleasure for the senses. Ideal for summer, especially by the coast. Good sillage and longevity.

  • Soft and weak, poor projection and short longevity. It’s a pretty but fleeting scent. I had it six years ago and never repeated it; it’s not my style.

  • I used it in 2006. It’s fresh, like baby powder. The trail is low to moderate, which is perfect for this fresh, woody, talcum-powdered vibe; anything more wouldn’t seem necessary. The longevity is good, about 11-12 hours. A gem from Morillas that deserves more recognition.

  • Tlakochkalkatl

It was one of my first perfumes and perhaps the most hated after Pleasures. It smells sweet and pleasant at first, but then it bores me a lot. It doesn’t smell bad, but it seems to try too hard and lacks personality. I left it in the car for my friends at parties; it took forever to finish because everyone loved it, but then, like me, they wished the scent would go away.

  • I gave it to my husband without testing it first, trusting the brand. At first, I thought, ‘I’ve messed up, I hate this.’ But over time, it became pleasant—summery, youthful, ideal for hot days. Maybe it’s not the best for a mature man.

  • I tried it yesterday at ECI thinking about buying it online. It smells simple and very elegant: fresh, talcum-powdered, with a touch of sweet ginger and a base of tobacco and wood. Very masculine. The problem is my skin; with just 4 sprays, it fades to skin scent in 10 minutes. A Zara perfume for 13 euros has more projection. It’s a shame because if it had lasted two hours, I would have bought it, but to make it noticeable, you’d need 12-14 sprays.

  • It’s curious that most people perceive baby powder and soap. To me, neither. I smell a very woody and spicy perfume with lots of sandalwood, ginger, galangal, and tobacco flower. It doesn’t smell clean; quite the opposite. I love it so much for its originality and zero mass appeal.

Attraction is an innate magnetism, something you have to rediscover. Brands like Prada, Gucci, and Bvlgari usually fail me, but Blv pour Homme is different: clean, fresh, talcum-powdered, and super elegant. Its blend of rare yet appealing scents is subtle, and even though it’s a 2005 batch, it still holds up decently for a few hours. Perfect for a first date or a romantic night; it envelops you in a distinguished tone and makes you more attractive. I’m going to try the modern version and see how it goes.

  • It smells like soap. To me, it’s fresh, quite synthetic but clean. It smells like hand soap from the start. In the dry-down, something sweet (plastic) appears that takes away some quality. It has good longevity and a moderate trail. The bottle and sprayer are standard, not impressive. My wife loved it. I liked the scent, but I perceived it as low quality, perhaps because I had Bleu Parfum on another wrist or had been using Mirto di Panarea for days, which it reminded me of a bit. I don’t think I’ll buy it, but I’ll give it another chance.

  • It’s a rich, talc-like, aquatic fragrance, with occasional baby powder notes. It’s more for personal taste than to catch attention. It’s great for being intimate with your partner because it’s soft and holds up well. Its trail is average—you can feel it, but it’s not as overwhelming as a Mugler A-mén. I won’t repurchase it because there are options with better performance, since its longevity isn’t great.

  • camilaeloisa

I really liked it; it’s unisex in my opinion. The only downside is that on my skin, it doesn’t last more than two hours. I asked some friends, and they liked it. I get a citrus touch at first and it’s super fresh, something you can wear during the day, especially in spring.

Another Bulgari rip-off I bought on sale at an Orlando outlet in 2019. There was no tester, but I remember that in 2003-2004 it was spicier, with clean, intense ginger and good performance. In those tough times, my collection included Kenzo, Carolina 212, and Cool Water. According to my partner, this is the blandest perfume I own; it’s an original 2018 batch, well-sealed, yet I agree: it’s bland and its longevity is terrible—one hour of projection and three hours close to the skin. I think the last reformulation created this inert monstrosity. I still have 90% of the bottle taking up space it doesn’t deserve. I don’t usually write negative reviews, but I want to prevent others from making my mistake: don’t buy blindly and always test the latest version; reformulations are ruining this sensory habit.

The BLV family was a hit in the 2000s and has stood the test of time. This BLV Pour Homme is still available in physical stores, unlike the rest. It can easily be your signature scent; it’s curious how similar they all are. While the Pour Homme was the softest, the NOTTE for men resembled the women’s version, and the NOTTE Pour Elle stood out for its alcohol notes and sensuality. Those that no longer exist are mourned by many. A true masterpiece by Alberto Morillas for Bulgari at the start of the millennium.

Recently, I found a bottle from the 2004 batch and loved it so much we bought another from 2014. The surprise was the difference: the first has a chrome neck and cap, while the second is matte silver plastic. The 2004 bottle is wider, better made, and the blue isn’t translucent like the 2014, which shows visual degradation. Olfactorily, the 2014 is more citrusy, but the 2004 has an oily touch upon application that suggests better longevity. I took a while to fall in love with this exotic scent, but time did its job. My wife loved it so much she used up 10ml in five days. It’s a must if you collect and connect with fragrances.

  • The smell is rich and super fresh, though at first it reminds me of CK One and disappoints me. On my skin and my husband’s, it lasts less than an hour; after three hours, it’s like I never wore it. I’m not sure if it’s a reformulation, since I’ve read it lasts long, but on us, it disappears instantly. A total letdown.

My girlfriend complains the moment I apply it, but after half an hour, the magic happens: the scent becomes sticky and addictive. It’s exquisite, polished, and sexy. It’s one of my favorites—I even bought two bottles to stock up since it’s no longer in production. (9/10)

  • Adal_Litmanen

Batch from 2019, on my skin it lasts perfectly for 5 to 6 hours, and on clothes it exceeds 12 hours. In my case, I can’t find any difference in longevity compared to the 2009 version, which was the first time I used it.

  • This good Bvlgari fragrance is neat and masculine; in its dry down, it’s very, very similar to a designer masterpiece: The Dreamer by Versace. Nothing more to add.

  • A 2001 perfume (Odyssey of Space), a year full of novelties like Paco Rabanne’s Ultra Violet. Back then, I didn’t pay much attention to it because other recent releases offered greater sillage and longevity, with beast-mode projection. Names like Cristóbal de Balenciaga, Pí GIVENCHY, and Insense were fresh off the press. Time passes and tastes change, and now I’ve discovered that this BLV is a hit. Yes, I would have preferred NOTTE, but it disappeared along with the women’s line. Although all four shared many similarities, I think Morillas was in one of his best moments. On my skin, it has excellent longevity and projects moderately, but people definitely notice it. It’s versatile, perhaps better for intermediate seasons, with both daytime and nighttime possibilities. The opening and first phase are bubbly and fresh, very pleasant overall. Later, there’s a second phase where the perfume sharpens, becomes more woody and spicy, and above all, gains much more strength and presence. Surprisingly, it has turned out to be a very sensual fragrance, without sacrificing Morillas’ signature elegance, but sensually suggestive. For my nose, the Galanga, tobacco leaves, and teak wood offer an exotic plus (this was even more apparent in NOTTE), plus a very realistic ginger note. However, it’s also true that this review is based on the tester in the perfumery, because at home it doesn’t perform the same.

  • Juancho Tatiesa

It was good, but sometimes it didn’t seem very masculine. Pleasant and floral, it doesn’t go unnoticed.

  • Porro1973

I’ve been wearing this fragrance for twenty years: it’s a flawless, fresh scent that gives you energy, with unique nuances unlike anything else. Unfortunately, the latest bottles barely last an hour or two. I’ve spoken with other users, and they all agree: poor projection and poor longevity. The aroma is still the same as previous versions, but it’s a shame it fades so quickly now. As a creation, it’s a ten, but it had much better times.

  • Gentil vagabond

I always dreamed of this scent, but when I tried it, it seemed excessively powdery. I’m not sure if it’s the original or a derivative, because it simply didn’t convince me; it felt too feminine.

  • Bad news: Bvlgari pulled BLV from the market. It was excellent, unassuming, perfect for personal enjoyment and smelling clean for at least 5 hours (on my skin, it lasts less). It sold well here, but it’s not a hit in China, so they removed it worldwide. They also discontinued Petit & Mamas, an ideal gift for moms with babies. Their strategy now is to please China, even reformulating Black pour Homme. They’re taking away a classic that, since the reformulation, has become quite diluted.

  • juancar677

A bittersweet goodbye: they discontinued it, and this new bottle has pleased some while disappointing others. When I smelled it in the store, its performance, development, and scent were different. If it ever returns, let it be done properly. I still have a bit of the new version, though I always preferred BLV NOTTE.

  • Fernando Dihern

It’s clean, but not spotless; it has a metallic touch and something sweet, sometimes reminding me of JPG. I gave it away because it didn’t quite convince me. It doesn’t give off much of a presence. If they discontinued it, it’s not a big loss; don’t waste your money if you were planning to buy it.

  • Eugenio444

I tried this in 2006 and absolutely loved it; it smells like a freshly born baby, fresh and clean. It lasted quite a while on my skin and left a soft to moderate trail. I really liked it, but only bought it once. After finishing it, I preferred to try more mature fragrances.
