  1. Some scents become trends so fast that suddenly you’re flooded with imitators. A while back, Tom Ford launched ‘Tuscan Leather’ in their Private Blend line, and it was such a hit that it’s still going strong, leading many fragrances to copy that style. That’s exactly what Royal Leather is: a nice-smelling scent that mimics Tuscan Leather with its spicy fruity notes and smoky leather dry-down. If you haven’t smelled Tuscan Leather before, this one might seem like a high-quality alternative, but it’s not. It’s so similar that it sounds like a knockoff, lacking the identity needed to be valued as something unique and original. Rating: 3
