  • Psicostasis

I think it’s a 7 leaning towards Anonyme, less dark, with that very marked ethereal myrrh-incense accord. A classic bitter herbal touch, like strong soap, but in the background. I understand why it’s called ‘Loewe 7 Essence’ because it takes the best of the 7 and magnifies it.

  • It’s like a reinterpretation of its sibling, Anónimo… I feel like they haven’t even revealed a quarter of the ingredients. At first, it smells identical, with cloves giving it an intense kick. As it dries down, it hits a balsamic phase reminiscent of Body Kouros, with a constant ambered incense. Hours later, there are waves of similarity to the discontinued Rive Gauche Pour Homme by Saint Laurent. 7 Anónimo was incredible, but this 7 Elixir is sublime—more formal and serious. Not for everyone, but Loewe has crowned itself with glory with this 7 line.

  • Loewe 7 has always been a standout, despite reformulations and rising prices. I tried both versions at El Corte Inglés yesterday; at first glance they seem similar, but the Elixir has more body and complexity. My surprise came the next day: it smells like a 50/50 blend of Oud for Greatness and classic Loewe 7. Combining those two scents perfectly, with decent longevity, gives it a solid 10/10.

  • Loewe being Loewe, a great fragrance worthy of what they’ve always been. We’re facing an elixir version of a perfume that was once a real hit, for its innovation, scent, performance, and versatility, and that’s because the Loewe 7 was a favorite for many, including me, until at some point they decided to reduce a beautiful incense that left the perfume as a pleasant, albeit diluted, scent that drifted away from what it once was. This happened already in the last versions of their cylindrical bottle. So here Loewe, in a marketing move and knowing we’re a bit like sheep, releases an elixir version that harkens back to that longed-for version we used to enjoy not so long ago, a perfume that upon release was practically identical to its normal version and hides many more notes than it declares. Apple? Present, it adds acidity and freshness to a scent where the incense increases in volume a lot and becomes even a symbiosis between the original 7 and the Anonyme, very good. It’s a bit fresher than the Loewe Anonyme, but the incense does resemble it in density; however, there’s a twist that arrives at the drying down and surprises. I strongly agree with one of the previous reviews referencing Oud For Greatness: indeed, that red pepper hides something more complex, as between that note and a notable patchouli, it turns the dry-down into a kind of softened, wearable OFG, a very well-achieved blend that makes this Loewe 7 Elixir a fragrance with great evolution in its scent. Performance is quite good, both in longevity and projection, but what about the price? Oh, the price… what a kick to people’s intelligence, a real shame the prices of Loewe elixir versions, a brand that at some point thought it was niche perfumery while spending years massacring its best creations and mixing trash with perfectly decent perfumes. They’ve lost their minds in this regard since they changed the packaging to worse; I don’t recommend paying what they ask, but one thing doesn’t negate the other: aromatically, it’s a perfume like a cathedral, versatile, and in my opinion, very masculine. I recommend trying it to all those who adore those affordable cylindrical versions that kept Loewe at the pinnacle of designer perfumes in the eyes of experts and novices alike.

  • Loewe being Loewe, this is a masterpiece as always. We’re looking at an Elixir version of a perfume that was previously top-tier, innovative, and versatile, until they toned down the incense and left it feeling watered down. Here, with a marketing move, they’ve brought back a version closer to that longed-for original. In its opening, it’s almost the same as the regular one, but it hides notes. Apple? Yes, present, adding acidity and freshness, while the incense ramps up to create a symbiosis between the original and Anónimo. It’s fresher than Anónimo, but the incense has more density. The dry-down twist is surprising: that red pepper hides something complex, blending with patchouli to turn it into a softened, wearable OFG. Performance is good, but the price… what a kick in the head, a shame. They’ve lost their minds with the packaging and pricing; I don’t recommend paying that much, but aromatically, it’s a cathedral, versatile, and very masculine. Try it if you loved the accessible cylindrical versions.

  • If you have Mancera Hindu Kush, don’t buy this!!! The Mancera one is cheaper and performs better. It smells the same.

I like it and consider it one of the best Loewe has launched in recent times. Pity the exorbitant price. And congratulations to Núria Cruelles, who is proving to be a very good perfumer. Tested with a 1.5ml sample given by Perfumerias.com. A modernizing reinterpretation, for all audiences, of the 7 with a touch of blue aroma without falling into ambroxan. Scent: light incense, some pepper and chili, and base woods that give it a spicy-mineral nuance (very much like Le Sel de Issey Miyake), which makes it last quite a while. 8 hours on my skin and projecting for 3 hours well. Very masculine fragrance, mature (I don’t see it as such for people under 30), elegant, I find it more versatile than the 7 and the Anonyme, tasty, addictive, though for my nose it’s not original; in fact, I think there are already some very similar ones on the market, perhaps at a better price. Being an “elixir,” it functions as a modern evolution of the previous 7, with quite good performance. For my wallet, it’s excessively expensive. If you like soft incense aromas and above all don’t find the price over 90 euros for the 50ml bottle (and over 130 euros for the 100ml, which is totally niche pricing) outrageous, go ahead. For that price, I’m going for niches. By the way, I don’t notice as much resemblance to Initio Parfums’ Oud for Greatness as some say.

  • I went to El Corte Inglés to try it, asked the girl in the Loewe section, and she gifted me a 1.5ml decant in a little bottle. For anyone interested, they seem eager to promote it, and it’s a comfortable way to get to know it. As for the scent, since the 7 has been my favorite cologne of all time from the brand, this seems like a good reinterpretation of the concept. It’s an intense and modern version, with more incense and a touch of sweetness, ambered, ambroxaned, and playful, which is very trendy right now and reminds me of the base of Esencia Elixir… It’s that Western reinterpretation of Arab perfumery you find so much in designer brands lately (Hugo Boss Elixir, Sauvage Elixir, etc.). I like it, but not more than the original… I see it as more refined and original; it’s a shame they half-spoiled it back in the day.

It’s a pity they kind of messed it up back in the day.

  • The Loewe 7 Elixir is a woody, spiced, earthy-mineral fragrance. From the start, you notice the incense and clove, characteristic of the 7 line, very close to the original but without the fruity apple touch. Occasionally, amber accords appear, like in the Anonyme version, almost oud-like. Over time, an aromatic, earthy, and spiced mineral accord emerges that sometimes reminds me of Terre d’Hermès. From that turn onward, the scent doesn’t change and stays consistent until the end. It’s a good version of the original with some elements from the Anonyme. It could be used daily, both day and night, in formal or casual situations, office, etc. It also has an aroma I believe will be more appealing to mature people. Its longevity has been very good; I reached 10 hours on me, and the sillage is regular. If you’re fans of the 7 or the Anonyme, I recommend trying it; it’s very likely you’ll like it, as it stays truer to those versions than the previous Cobalt (though that one smells great too).

It’s a good version of the original 7 with elements from Anonyme. I wear it daily, for formal or casual occasions, even at the office. At my age, I find it pleasant. Longevity is very good, lasting 10 hours on me, with average sillage. If you’re a fan of the 7 or Anonyme, try it; you’ll likely like it. It stays truer to the original than the Cobalt (which also smells great).

I tried it yesterday on the fly. As soon as I sniffed it, I thought of Initio’s Oud for Greatness; the resemblance is unbearable. Since I’m not a huge fan of that DNA, you can imagine how the Loewe Elixir falls into the same bucket. Only tested dry so far, so nothing to say about longevity or performance. For now, until further notice, I only stick with the SOLO from Loewe. Timeless and utterly indispensable in my daily life. May God keep it safe.

The new version of the 7 family is far removed from the original and even more so from the Anonyme, which is my signature. On skin, it feels dry, almost like a burnt vetiver, as if dried flowers were rescued from an old book. I don’t smell the incense, or if it’s there, it has nothing to do with its predecessors. The apple appears at first, but it’s not the one from a Layton. It’s at the opposite pole from the sweet, Coca-Cola-style perfumes that are trendy. It leaves me bewildered because calling it “Loewe 7” means a lot, and here I see it drifting too far from the DNA (and I’m not excited by the result either). Try it before buying, because on top of that, the price is totally unjustified.

It’s an olfactory journey in a single bottle: I went through Tom Ford’s Oud Wood, then Montblanc’s Meisterstück Black, and the drying down of Dior Savage Elixir. In short, it’s a blend of many perfumes in one, with a very varied evolution in my opinion.

  • Loewe making a clone. Specifically of Agatho Fauno. On my nose, it’s a carbon copy almost the whole time: opening, development, and dry down. Nuria Cruella de Vil has done it again.

  • I tried a 1.5ml decant. It’s very good, but it’s quite expensive. Like in the original 7, incense stands out here (even if they don’t list it, they either have it or imitate it well). The opening is less bright than the original, but as it dries down, it becomes darker, deeper, and more complex; in the end, I like it more. It earns the ‘Elixir’ title (something rare these days) and evolves into more complex aromas, similar to how Boss Bottled Elixir does (though that one doesn’t have incense, it has a slight resemblance). Performance is very good, even surpassing the original, which is already excellent. In May 2025, it has a rating below 4 on ‘Fragrantica,’ which I don’t understand, though I respect it. I think that mediocre score is due to the price. Indeed, the price is through the roof: 50ml for €90 and 100ml for around €125. I hope it drops over time since it’s a new launch. Anyway, I can’t deny it’s an exceptional perfume. It’s addictive; I put it on my hand and keep bringing it to my nose. It’s a very good, masculine, and mature fragrance (not for young people), respecting the original DNA but standing out as darker and more complex, with better performance, though it does cost an arm and a leg.

It’s a dupe of Intio’s Oud for Happiness. I expected a Loewe 7 with better longevity, but it smells completely different. What a shame.

It’s a dupe of Intio’s Oud for Happiness. I expected it to be more similar to the original Loewe 7 and last longer, but it’s totally different, and honestly, it disappointed me.

Hi everyone! I love being here with the perfume community. It’s great to discover new fragrances and learn from your experiences. Don’t hesitate to share your favorites; I’m always excited to try new essences!

  • AronPettersen

It’s a very balanced and versatile perfume. It starts with a fresh and cozy hit, smoothly transitions to a refined heart, and ends with a warm base that lasts a long time. Ideal for daily wear or special events, it leaves a subtle mark that stays in the memory.

  • SygmaSergio

This is a spectacular perfume. Loewe is a high-quality brand that’s way underrated. This smells mature, clearly woody, with hints of incense and bourbon. I’m surprised they didn’t list the woods and whiskey. It’s a very masculine, strong, and imposing scent, better for formal moments where you want to make a statement, an ‘I’m here.’ Recommended for cold temperatures, up to 20 degrees, mostly for fall and winter. With 11 sprays, it lasts over 9 hours. The projection fills the room in the first 2-4 hours, then people just notice it when they’re close by.

  • Even though I’m a woman, I couldn’t resist buying it after trying it; it’s delicious. It’s true that deep down there’s a somewhat aquatic, balsamic masculine touch, but everything else is unisex and delightful, so I feel very comfortable wearing it. It has a wonderful, elegant, and sensual edge.

  • @beto_ruiz’s review is spot on. In my opinion, since I own all the flankers except the COBALT, this ELIXIR instantly reminded me of the ANONYME, and it’s obvious it keeps the original’s DNA. Some notes are missing from the description, but there’s no doubt the LOEWE 7 DNA is present.

  • jazz gibrahan

It’s a blend of the 7 and the 7 Anonyme: the chili note is noticeable and lingers, though low-key, while the patchouli and amber are quite strong. Even though they aren’t listed, the incense and pepper notes from the original 7 are there too. In terms of longevity, I think the Anonyme edges it out a bit, even though this is an Elixir.

  • gonzalezvertiz

Got this as a gift along with the 7 Cobalt (which is a beast), and honestly, it smells like a perfumer mixed it right in front of you with the oils listed on the label: those four notes feel almost pure, no fillers. It’s like walking into a shop and saying, ‘Mix something with pepper, patchouli, amber, and flowers,’ and getting it done exactly that way. It smells like extreme quality, but zero versatility; I still haven’t worn it because I’m not sure when to use it. I don’t know the whole Loewe range, but it feels like they’re almost niche perfumes, hard to classify in modern perfumery, ideal for connoisseurs looking for personal enjoyment rather than mass appeal.
