Undeniably charming, this fragrance doesn’t evolve, but you never want it to change its scent. It carries undeclared marine notes that make it salty, with an earthy touch of cedar moss, while the jasmine tea is cool and super light (nothing invasive). It leaves a delicious trail that doesn’t bother but still has presence. The leather note is very wearable, slightly tight, which makes it sensual. It lasts all day, and you’re smelling it all day. Did I buy it blind? Yes, something I’d never heard of (super bold).

Not for me, I have other ideas when it comes to perfuming myself. Sometimes they feel like pointless olfactory experiments. This is the second Baker I’ve tried, and it leaves me baffled. The opening is awful—a chemical, leathery slap, like distilled powdered whiskey brewed in my uncle’s basement, with a touch of camphorated detergent and leather greener than Hulk. It became bearable for a bit, but I haven’t managed to get past this Tartan. Maybe my nose isn’t refined enough for this style; it just exceeds my personal limit. And remember: if you buy it blind, you do so at your own risk and peril.
