Fiero by Xerjoff

At first, it smells like those lemon, mint, and anise candies from the nineties—cheap, but I always thought their scent was exquisite and wanted it in a cologne. As a citrus opening, it’s well-executed without being loud. It evolves into a fresh herbal note, like the green Dove bar soap from the 2000s; I’d almost say the whole fragrance smells like that soap. It’s an aroma I associate with countryside landscapes and fig trees surrounding a house with Greco-Roman busts—elegant and tied to privileged strata of the past. Think of an eighties villa; it feels dated but not unpleasant; on the contrary, it’s cozy like the turquoise shade of the bushes under the late afternoon sun. Towards the end, you notice the shift from herbal to energetic, a revitalizing balm that won’t let me stay still for more than five minutes. A strange sensation, almost an aromatic dose of adrenaline. Its name honors the effect on my nose. Curiosity: it reacts to sweat; if the trail fades and I go for a walk or do something physical, the scent returns, heavier and more masculine. However, I wouldn’t wear it to the gym. Mr. Chris Maurice isn’t my favorite. My opinion is subjective and perhaps biased, maybe stemming from a video where I didn’t see him being sincere. Still, I acknowledge his knowledge and good proposals; not all of them are to my taste, but I can’t help but admire his craftsmanship. ‘Fiero’ is one of the best. It’s a well-rounded, excellent fougère in terms of notes, perception, and performance. It shouldn’t lead to mistakes; it’s not a classic or redundant ‘fern’; it navigates niche territory with olfactory experience: very well-crafted lemon, elegantly fragrant, with a fresh development that doesn’t abandon the citrus but adds a ‘green’ note that makes the user feel clean and modern, without falling into the cloying sweetness of the times, although within the base, an excellent coumarin and woods provide a good framework. Highly recommended to try. The suggestion to buy it is complicated because it’s expensive and has an exclusive vibe; I suppose it’s a good purchase for those who can afford the cost without guilt, which isn’t my case. Undoubtedly, Fiero exists and it’s very good.

Very herbal scent, with a slightly sweet lemon and a mentholated touch; I also perceive a clean aroma, like very elegant soap, but always maintaining the citrus note. I bought the new 100ml version; the presentation changes on the sticker: the new one says ‘Fiero’ at the bottom with white borders, while the previous one had gold borders and ‘Fiero’ at the top with ‘Casamorati’ at the bottom. I’m sure this new version was reformulated, because in all reviews before buying, they said it was almost a beast mode, but my performance is moderate: it lasts 6 hours with more than 8 sprays. Someone said 2 sprays were enough, but I assure you that’s not true. In summary, Fiero has a good scent with moderate performance. I own Renaissance, and honestly, it’s superior to Fiero in quality and performance. I’m not regretting buying it because Xerjoff is one of my favorite houses, but I’m a bit disappointed because I thought it would be the same as Casamorati and it didn’t meet my expectations.

It’s citrusy and herbal, even too citrusy. But it’s a delight. Its longevity is quite good for a citrus perfume, but its projection is outstanding. Maybe it’s not the best option in enclosed spaces. It feels like a strong, very realistic lemon that gives me an incredible freshness sensation. It’s expensive, like everything from Xerjoff, but the quality is justified. If you can try it before buying, go ahead; although I bought it blind and I don’t regret it. I love it, I fully recommend it.

I have this perfume in a 30ml presentation, and the bottle is beautiful. I think it’s an excellent reinterpretation of old aromatic citrus scents; it could be similar to Eau Sauvage, Polo Green, or Paco Rabanne. Personally, it smells like so many things that it will be hard for me to explain. On the opening, I don’t usually bring my nose too close because the citrus is very sharp; via dry scent, it smells completely like lemon and mint caramel, a facet I love very much, give it a try. After half an hour, I start to feel more herbs, vetiver, nutmeg, and a touch of thyme; I can’t find the other notes. In summary, it’s the typical classic aromatic but with a hyper-realistic lemon of very good quality, with performance as we’re used to from Xerjoff. Personally, it’s not something I prefer to smell frequently; I have other things that are more wearable and generate better sensations in my environment. What I enjoy most is spraying it on my wrist and smelling it every now and then; it has to be said that wearing it is a challenge, as it’s a beast mode and as sharp as it gets. Regarding those who said it was creamy, I don’t perceive anything creamy; it’s rugged in its potency. I want to add that it’s the best lemon I’ve ever smelled, by far the most natural.

LET’S GET TO THE POINT, OR AS WE SAY IN ALICANTE ABOUT NUTRITION. Let me tell you that I have many from Xerjoff (Accento, Erba Pura, Opera, Nexos, etc.), but these days, smelling this lemon beast in its dry down (UHFFFFF), I’m going to get one for sure. Here we have Mr. Maurice giving us a BEAST MODE versatile enough to be the KING of the party, but contrary to his usual style (dark or potent, no), this one goes for EXTREME CLEANLINESS. Meaning, so we can be the most polished, whether it’s during the day or at a night event (Ibiza, Alicante, Cartagena de Indias, etc.). Long live travel. Bond is sure to wear this when rolling through Italy or the Mediterranean coasts (Alicante, Amalfi, Sicily, etc.). A warm greeting, RF from Sun City.

Interlude by Amouage is a visual luxury, but it failed me olfactively. Upon application, the first impression was unpleasant, almost like bad breath, which is a shame considering how beautifully it’s packaged. If you don’t have much experience with perfumes, be careful; always test before buying.

Guerlain’s Vetiver is softer and has a realistic touch of lemon peel. It smells great, but I feel it’s priced too high; it hardly should go over 120 euros.

Fiero is a fougere classic from start to finish. Ideal for spring-summer, office, or semi-formal dates. Its big win is keeping the citrus note for over six hours, which is rare. I recommend it to men 35+ who like fougères with that citrusy, elegant touch that Xerjoff brings.

It opens with a symphony of balanced citrus notes, no acidity, trapped in a creamy bubble thanks to the sandalwood, with a slight powdery touch. As it settles, that creamy citruscy persists, joined by peppermint, patchouli, and tonka bean. Everything is very well-balanced; nothing stands out alone, yet everything feels present. I loved it so much I bought 30ml, which will last me several summers if used sparingly. A couple of sprays are enough for 10 hours, even in the heat. Its main value is keeping the citrus alive all day, something few achieve. It’s a creamy citrus scent for hot weather with outstanding longevity.
