What a cool perfume. It’s a spicy floral with Turkish rose, carnation, and cypriol, hinting at something sweet in the background. The opening is very potent and stays that way for about ten minutes. As it settles, you notice saffron, pepper, and a touch of rose, leading into a base of sweet, spicy leather with green nuances. I love it, especially how it’s intense yet light—not as heavy as Electimuss’s Vixere nor as sweet as Memo’s Italian Leather, but taking the best of both. It looks playful and versatile for all year-round except in heat. Perfect for casual or semi-formal wear; I think you can rock it starting at 28. On my skin, it lasts between 8 and 9 hours. This was my favorite Thameen until I tried Carved Oud. Among the ones I like, this is the only one that doesn’t smell too feminine to me; I see it as more unisex. Intense and deep from the first spray, very complex. If we ignore the notes, it’s hard to say exactly what I smell, and I love that: floral, green, earthy, and oriental. I don’t smell leather or oud like many do; the cypriol in me always reads as green/earthy. Don’t be scared off by the rose in the notes: this doesn’t smell like obvious roses, just floral. Thameen has a rose obsession in almost everything, but here it’s not noticeable, which is why I see it as more suitable for men. The spicy oriental touch comes from pepper and saffron, the floral base is clear, and the drydown is woody and green thanks to the cypriol. Simple in construction but complex in execution, a true gem as its name suggests.
