A*Men Kryptomint by Mugler

Pleasant fragrance for everyday wear, with a good balance. It’s not intense, leaving a soft impression. Good longevity and easy to wear, though it doesn’t stand out as unique.

Nice scent, Mugler DNA. It does things with a lot of personality. I’m on the fence with positive opinions: I prefer other flankers, but Kryptomint is also great. It has that typical acidic, sparkling touch, minty but a crushed mint, you can smell the patchouli and a subtle chocolatey tone. The dry down is wonderful. I won’t say I love it because I have others I prefer, but it performs and projects well.

A*Men Kryptomint is a powerful fragrance, one that changes your mood. It smells potent yet fresh, like dark chocolate cookies and mint. Its standout notes are mint, dark chocolate, and patchouli, the star of all A*Men and Angel. Excellent longevity, around 8 hours, with moderate to heavy sillage. It reminds me a lot of Pure Zest, but this is fresher thanks to the mint.

So far, it’s the A*Men flanker I like the least. The opening is strident, but that’s not the bad part. The worst comes in the drydown: super artificial; the mix of patchouli and mint or peppermint is very sharp. It sounds synthetic and futuristic, like the woman in the ad who came from the future selling bleach. It’s a non-natural smell, and I don’t know what occasions or seasons to use it for. I would never wear it 🙁

Another Mugler perfume that’s highly underrated. Personally, I like sweet perfumes, and as I always say: you have to give them time to evolve on your skin. If it’s true that upon opening it smells half plastic, which surprises many, when it dries down it’s a marvel. It gives me the sensation of white chocolate with mint; wherever I go, people ask me what I’m wearing (I keep the name to myself) and generate compliments. I think when I run out, I’ll buy it again. I felt curious because I was watching the Supergirl series and went to check reviews, and upon finding this marvel, I felt compelled to buy it right away. No matter how hard I search for the After Eight resemblance, I can’t smell it. There is a sweet touch, with exquisite mint full of sugar, without being cloying. You can detect patchouli and vanilla as it dries, but I can’t find the chocolate anywhere. It’s a distant resemblance to A*Men, but much more wearable and versatile.

If there is a men’s fragrance that smells like Nestlé’s dark chocolate and mint After Eight chocolates, it’s this one. Frankly, it smells basically like that and patchouli. Of course, if there’s a men’s fragrance that smells like the legendary Nestlé After Eight chocolates, it’s this one. Frankly, it basically smells like that and patchouli. Honestly, I don’t feel that strong chocolate/mint mix others describe, or at least not as the center. Instead, I get a sugary mint smell at first, like those little white candy mints everyone knows. Then comes the patchouli and geranium; sometimes it gives me a green sensation, like sugared grass, which sounds weird, and later a rich cappuccino with mint sensation. I like the fragrance quite a bit, although I would have preferred more of the chocolate note. Great aroma for summer nights in places that aren’t too enclosed and with high temperatures (+28°) and spring days. Projection isn’t that good; maybe with a little more it would have been perfect, but the longevity is very good and it lasts days on clothes. Rich aroma recommended if you are a fan of mint and sweet scents. Scent: 7.5, Longevity: 8, Sillage: 7, Versatility: 8, Age: 18/30.

I like its sugared frosty mint opening, which then turns into warm nuances of chocolate and tonka; I think coffee is there but chocolate predominates, neither too sweet nor too powdery, until it disappears into a vanilla base close to the skin. I don’t think they ever wanted it to smell natural; it reminds me of Nestlé’s After Eights, their mint cream, as if you were biting the chocolate, a totally edible and plastically delicious smell. If you like sweet fragrances, it’s very easy to wear, as the projection is moderate leaning towards low, even with over-application. It doesn’t feel youthful or mature, and like most of this style, it’s easily unisex. People who have smelled it like it, and to me, without going crazy, I like it enough to use it. I’ve used it in winter but it fades a bit; it performs better in slightly temperate environments. Finally, it also reminded me of Ultra Zest at some point.

Thanks to Rafasant, I can chime in: A*Men Kryptomint by Mugler is a blast of mentholated freshness on the skin, well-blended with chocolate and vanilla. It’s intense and pleasant without being overwhelming, ideal for fall, spring, and maybe some summer nights; in winter, I’m not sure how you’d react to the cold since it’s too fresh. The projection and longevity seem adequate. It’s an interesting proposal and less complex within the A*Men series, differing in my opinion from Ultrazest and Pure Havane.

Mint, patchouli, and chocolate are what I perceive most; it’s practically the same as Ultrazest, except here there’s mint instead of orange. Longevity is 6 hours, projection is 2 hours, a good option for summer and casual use. Price online is between 40 and 60 dollars. I wouldn’t recommend it if you already have Ultrazest; I expected much more. I give it a 7/10.

I save my ‘I hate it’ comments for truly awful things, but this isn’t one of them. It’s not great either; neutral is my take, though if I were being critical, I’d say they’re milking the golden goose to infinity and should put more effort in. The opening is quirky with that chocolate-mint note (even though I’ve never been a fan of that combo in food). Soon, I start noticing similarities to the A Men line and its flankers, especially Pure Malt, but ultimately it turns into an undefined, boring patchouli with weak projection. Nowhere near Ultra Zest, Pure Tonka, or Pure Malt. Totally avoidable.

Here’s a fragrance that will never go down in history as exceptional. It’s a mix of mint, chocolate, and vanilla. Pretty linear. I wouldn’t call it a bad scent; I even like it, but after a few minutes or hours, it can get boring. My wife just told me to ‘get away from me.’ It’s a matter of taste. Before buying the 100ml, grab a decant or sample first. It’s not a bad scent, but I’m sure it’ll blow some people’s minds.
