Ferre fragrances have a hook that really grabs you. I was caught off guard because, with notes like apple and vanilla, I expected something sweet; instead, it hits the sweet spot perfectly without being cloying. After the first 20 minutes, where it smells a bit generic and sharp, it settles on the skin and unleashes magic: black pepper blends with the warmth of ginger, enveloping you. It’s elegant, with that refined oriental touch that plays between delicate and intense, creating a unique atmosphere with amber, vanilla, or cedar, all sprinkled with sage and green apple. By the next hour, it’s rounder on the nose and smells frankly great. Very good price for something so versatile.
I bought this online blind and it was funny. The first thing we do with a new perfume is look for a dupe, and this wasn’t the exception. For those wanting to buy it without testing: I put L’Uomo on one hand and One Million Lucky by Paco Rabanne on the other; on my skin, it smells 75% the same, but L’Uomo is warmer and less creamy than Lucky. Should I recommend it? Well, yes! For a blind buy, I’m not disappointed: pleasant aroma, easy to understand, wearable, and super versatile, plus an even better price. Note: in extreme heat, maybe not, because it’s sweet and can feel a bit heavy. Rating: 8/10.
I recently discovered this fragrance. I found it on sale, they let me try it, and I loved it. I paid about $20. A fragrance that surprised me. There are so many conventional, unoriginal launches on the market trying to copy trends for mass appeal, but Gianfranco Ferre’s L’Uomo makes the difference. The combination of bergamot and cardamomo, plus vanilla and black pepper, creates a fresh and spicy accord with a strong olfactory character. On my skin, it’s intense and long-lasting. If you’re looking for something efficient and complex, I sincerely recommend it.
I tried to reconnect with this Gianfranco Ferré from 2000, remembering its creation Pontaccio 21, but I encountered a perfume that my skin chemistry rejected instantly. It’s never the fragrance’s fault, but ultimately, it disappointed me: it’s very sweet and somewhat generic, offering me nothing. Here, the transition from paper to skin is drastic, so I advise testing it well beforehand to avoid surprises.
