Bruno Jovanovic is a French perfumer who has made a name for himself in the fragrance industry. His love for perfumes began at an early age, as he was fascinated by the scents that surrounded him. After graduating in Physics and Chemistry at Université Pierre et Marie Curie, he enrolled in the French perfumery school ISIPCA, where he graduated with top honors. Bruno spent more than 20 years between New York and Paris, creating some of the most famous fragrances in the world for a major fragrance house. He succeeded in bridging the gap between the American dream and the myth of French perfumery. He feels closely connected to fragrances, and his work reflects his passion for perfume. Bruno is both intellectual and artistic, and draws inspiration from both artists and philosophers. He deconstructs and simplifies his ideas, seeking what is essential. He also takes time into account—its effect on the maturation of raw materials and its final olfactory form. His motto is “Beauty is universal and has no concept,” taken from Kant. Bruno is known for his simple and clear message in perfumes that can be identified immediately. He limits the number of raw materials he uses, preferring to use fewer bases, and creates fragrances that are both art and sensibility. He has created fragrances such as Monsieur de Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle and Dries Van Noten, among others. Bruno’s love for fragrances continues to inspire him to create fragrances that are modern and innovative, while still maintaining the classic elegance of perfume.
