  Wow, what a beautiful perfume. It combines rose with exceptional incense, with a class and harmony that left me surprised. I never thought I’d fall in love with a fragrance featuring rose as the protagonist. It transports me to my favorite Marly perfume, Delina, but in a unisex version. I only have a sample and I’m fascinated by it more and more; I’m going for the bottle.

  Opus XII – Rose Incense: Starts with olibanum, elemi, bitter black ink, and a shy rose. Then, the smoky notes give way to the rose, woods, and vanilla. In dry down, the rose and olibanum dominate, with that ink bitterness making it addictive, embraced by aromatic vanilla and sandalwood. Projection over 6 hours and more than 12 hours on skin, even after showering. It’s less popular than its siblings but better formulated. The black ink makes it a rare bird, unique and special. For me, it’s the best rose on the market: original and pleasant without being overwhelming, something hard to achieve with this note. Very versatile, for day or night (less for summer). A true masterpiece and jewel that doesn’t go unnoticed.

  What a marvel. Although it’s not the classic Amouage profile, it keeps its essence. It evokes nostalgia, melancholy, and old dusty books. It opens with high-quality powdery frankincense, fresh and spicy elemi, and an ink note that adds a watery, bitter touch. The rose is aquatic and luminous, surrounded by incense that softens it with an almost citrusy freshness. After an hour, the rose takes over and the elemi yields to the resinous incense. The base is creamy from sandalwood and vanilla, with resinous myrrh. There are grays and clouds, a quiet uncertainty. I bought it blind and fell in love with it upon wearing. Performance: 12 hours on dry skin. Projection: 2 meters for the first 2 hours, then a personal bubble until the 5th hour. Ideal for parties, work, or night outs. Unisex, 24+ years old, autumn, winter, and summer nights.

  It’s an incense-drenched rose that surprises with how good it smells, but it has a major drawback: the opening is intense and full of personality, almost intoxicating. After two tries, I noticed it trades versatility for being a bit overwhelming; it’s spicy, resinous, and slightly tiring. I’d wear it very sparingly in my daily life. Nuclear performance, demands formality and special occasions. Unisex and best for cold weather.
