I feel like I won a contest and was taken to a cabin in the woods. It’s cold and stormy outside, but inside, by candlelight, the atmosphere is warm and cozy by the fireplace. The fire burns perfectly without smoke, and I notice delicious scents: Tahitian and Madagascar black vanilla, balsamic Styrax resin, tonka beans with almond rum, and a cinnamon stick. Everything blends with the aroma of a freshly filled pipe. It’s pure calm; you only hear the crackling of the fire and my own heartbeat. When I wake up, the fire is out and someone has added fresh wood. It no longer smells of vanilla and benzoin, but a soft trace remains. The room feels fresh, yet a blanket keeps me warm and smells of tobacco, vanilla, cinnamon, and wood. Vanille Benjoin is comforting, very noticeable at first and then more subtle. The ambroxan is perfectly integrated, not distracting from the scent. It’s ideal for cold months, far from being a sweet gourmand. I really like it aromatically. Approved, though it lasted about four hours on my skin.
