In this flanker, they’ve achieved better projection and longevity than the original, ideal for fans of this fragrance.
I absolutely loved the Valentino Uomo 2015; it’s woody and warm. At first, it smells like hazelnut or almond liqueur, with a shy but persistent citrus touch. After 10 minutes, leather and chocolate emerge, creating a warm, pleasant atmosphere, like a warm hug or the chocolate my mom used to make on cold afternoons. Then the scent stabilizes, the woods gain a bit more presence, but the coffee barely shows up. As juancar677 says, this version won in depth, projection, and longevity compared to the 2013 one. It’s perfect for afternoon or night wear in cool or cold weather; I’d use it for romantic outings or whenever I want that hug feeling. It reminded me of Dior Homme Intense, but I preferred the dry-down on this Valentino.
A rounder, more nocturnal version than the original. Unlike the VU, they’ve boosted the chocolate and ground coffee to give them more presence, making it a night or late-afternoon fragrance. It has a nod to Dior Homme Intense, just as a memory. It’s elegant, refined, and warm. Highly recommended for formal settings, couple outings in autumn and winter, or cool spring nights.
The Goliath of fragrances! One of my favorites, what a pity they discontinued it. If you can get your hands on it, don’t hesitate; it deserves a spot in your collection; I’d pay up to $200. Unique, rich, refined, and long-lasting; it gets tons of compliments and few match its composition and performance. If the budget is tight, a decent option would be the Uomo Valentino (also discontinued), easier to find and cheaper. This scent is absolutely crazy rich.
A masterpiece: starts powdery and linear, then the chocolate and woods kick in. Perfect for night and formal events, but not for heat; in midsummer it fades fast and doesn’t evolve, so it’s better in cool weather.
What a shame they don’t sell it anymore. With those notes, it should have been a winter bombshell.
