Descripción
Up To The Moon by The House of Oud is an oriental floral fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2020, this composition was created by Cristian Calabro and Carlo Ribero. The top notes unfold with Tuscany iris, neroli, black currants, grapefruit, and pear; the heart reveals magnolia, sambac jasmine, and Damask rose; while the base notes close the olfactory pyramid with raspberry, Madagascar vanilla, musk, amber, sandalwood, and ambrette musk.

On my skin: for the first ten minutes, it smells exquisite, between pear and citrus—I think it’s the orange or grapefruit, but it’s a citrus not found elsewhere, very well executed, perhaps with other components like iris or blackcurrant that blend in. But after those minutes, it becomes a bit annoying, losing that freshness which doesn’t last long (at least on my skin). I’m not sure if it’s the magnolia mixed with the other essences that makes it feel cloying. (on my skin). I want to wait and see how it develops on me over a couple of hours; I’m still giving it a chance to grow on me.
I don’t understand why it doesn’t have more stars. It smells absolutely delicious to me; maybe it doesn’t last as long on my skin, or maybe many people just have nice bottles but mediocre perfumes. For me, that’s not the case. The opening is delightful: rose with raspberry, pear, orange, and musk. It’s like a blend between Jimmy Choo I Want Choo and Angel Nova, but more subtle and elegant. Then it settles on the skin, smelling like I Want Choo with a citrus twist—sweet but not cloying. Maybe my skin eats it up quickly (even though I applied lotion). It lasts 4-5 hours right on the skin, sometimes leaving a light trail of raspberry, pear, and orange syrup with rose, all elevated by musk and woods. At the 4-hour mark, the oud kicks in (not listed), and the scent becomes more elegant, though you have to be close to smell it since the projection fades. I liked the fragrance; it costs around $170 USD on FragranceNet and ships to Mexico (takes 3-4 weeks), but it doesn’t seem like the most expensive option out there. The dry-down is elegant; for me, it’s a 9/10, especially since the bottle is one of the prettiest from the house, which adds points.
I expected much more; it’s not fruity or sweet as promised. It’s not bad, but you don’t get the notes described, and the longevity and projection are just average. Definitely not a blind buy.
