Starts with a nose-pinch and a dusty touch, cumin front and center with bouquet-like florals in the background. The drydown smells more like cactus pulp than flower. After two or three minutes, that initial hit fades and an animalic leather rises. Didn’t quite convince me; it brings back memories of 90s perfumes, but to be fair, it has an elegant leather-and-floral vibe.
At first, it smells floral and sweet, likely from the tonka bean, but the cumin and leather take over immediately. It’s an untamed beast, like the Spirit horse. After two or three hours, the drydown is very wearable. My advice: test it before spending.
I was expecting something dense and horse-like, but this smells the opposite: airy, floral, and animalic thanks to the cumin, as if an animal had rolled in a meadow. The perfumer’s idea is brilliant. It’s potent and has a drydown that won’t come off even after washing. For the brave.
Bought a decant for the leather and cumin, but it wasn’t what I was looking for. In the drydown, it flooded the room and smelled like an unwashed bed. UPDATE: I tested it on skin and it transformed from dirty to floral and sweet with an earthy base. I loved it and bought the bottle. Moral: always test on skin.
