One of the most potent gems I’ve tried from Maison Alhambra. I don’t compare it to the original, but it’s a beast in longevity and projection. The scent is delicious: very powerful yet clean oud, exquisite saffron, and green notes that add freshness. I guess there are hidden notes because it smells like roses with a hint of wine. It looks super elegant and unisex. A true gem that was pricey when it launched but is now an absolute steal. Hope they haven’t messed with the formula.
It’s a beast from Maison Alhambra. I don’t compare it to the original, but it’s an absolute bomb in terms of longevity and projection. I agree with almost everything the previous reviewer said. To me, it has that rose from Moschino’s Toy Boy, giving a sensation of tannic or slightly sour red wine. I don’t know the original it clones, but I have Gucci Guilty Absolute in my top 5, and this The Serpent reminds me of it, especially as it dries after half an hour or an hour. Just to give you an idea, it smells a lot like Uniesia balm.
The opening is very strong with that floral oud attack; it reminds me a bit of the heart of ‘The Night’ by Fragrance World but less intense. If there’s patchouli, it’s well-hidden. For me, from the heart to the base, it stays balanced with soft leather and smoky notes without overpowering the florals. I feel both are on par; the projection starts at a meter and settles into a personal bubble. The floral seems to be saffron or a dark rose that ends in a very dark woody note. I loved it.
The opening is sharp due to the oud and florals; it reminds me a bit of The Night by Fragrance World, but less intense. If there’s patchouli, it’s well-hidden. For me, from the heart to the base, it’s balanced: soft leather and smoky notes without overpowering the florals. Projection starts at a meter and settles into the personal bubble. The floral, whether saffron or dark rose, stays in a dark woody note. I really liked it.
What a perfume! It’s one of my favorite low-cost options with that synthetic oud note. Once I wore it to work and a colleague asked, ‘Are you wearing an oud, right?’. It’s versatile enough for formal occasions, very winter-appropriate, and lasts a long time. It smells like burnt and incense-like oud wood with a very, very slight sweet touch.
What a perfume. One of my favorite budget picks with that synthetic oud note. Once at work, a colleague asked if I was wearing an oud. Perfect for formal wear and very winter-appropriate; it lasts quite a bit. Notes of burnt and incense-like oud wood with a very, very subtle sweet touch.
At first, I was turned off by the opening, but I gave it a chance because it seemed bold and a bit boring. Slowly, on my wrist, I lost my fear and got excited. What a surprise! It’s an amazing perfume. If you’re interested, give it a try. I’ve tested other synthetic ouds before, but this one is rich. There’s a slight petrochemical note, maybe from the saffron, but honestly, it’s very good value for the price.
At first, it drove me crazy, but I gave it a chance on my wrist until I stopped fearing it. What a surprise: it’s a gem. If you’re interested, give it a try. I’ve tested other synthetic ouds, but this one is rich. It feels a bit petroly, maybe from the saffron, but honestly, the price-to-quality ratio is great.
It’s the most durable one I own, even compared to beasts like Club de Nuit Oud. Smells like pure leather—powerful and direct. I wear it with my leather jacket, Iron Maiden tees, and my piercings. Not for blind buys or sensitive noses like Invictus Aqua. It takes time to appreciate this smoky scent; it’s not instant love.
This is the most durable perfume I own, even compared to beasts like Club de Nuit Oud. It’s a leather scent that screams with full power. I wear it with my leather jacket, Iron Maiden or Metallica tees, and my piercings. I’ve never gotten compliments because it’s a rare and distinct fragrance—not suitable for blind buys or for guys with a fragile nose who can’t handle anything stronger than Invictus Aqua. You have to give it time and learn to love this armored scent; it’s not love at first sniff.
