As soon as I smelled those notes of Petit Grain, Geranium, Clove, and Musk, I knew I’d love it, and I was right. That Man is incredibly rich and aromatic, an amazing blend of floral, citrus, musk, and woods. I have the ‘aftershave lotion’ version; while the trail is light, it lasts its time. The connection to Old Spice is strong, except That Man lacks cinnamon and vanilla, making it less sweet. The floral note is prominent in both, but Revlon’s fragrance adds spice and wood. It’s an old-school fragrance, not aggressive at all. In an era where scents subtly accompanied men, without that histrionic opening that arrived decades later. If I have to admit something, even though it’s not listed, I sense a tiny hint of lavender. Infinitesimal, but it’s there. I like it quite a bit; my bottle is from the 70s-80s, a Splash version with a black cap, showing a picture of a man putting his hands in his pockets. I don’t know if it was reformulated from its launch until my version. But what I have, I like.
Wow! I completely overlooked this gem that I had already added! I adore it, I’ll love it forever; it’s Revlon’s best creation to date. A nostalgic, warm aroma with that Arab touch I simply love.
