It’s almost identical to Hypnotic Poison, but I think it lasts longer for an absurdly low price; I got it for $7 and the original is over $100, what a steal.

Sweet Hope is sweet almonds with a hint of liquor, plus a touch of coconut and vanilla. I don’t have Dior’s Hypnotic Poison, but if it smells like this, I’d buy it without thinking twice. It’s deep, creamy, sensual, sweet, and lasts forever. If you’re looking for something more affordable than Dior, this La Rive is 100% recommended.

I use it and sometimes I like it, other times I don’t. What doesn’t work for me is the opening, very alcoholic, but then the performance kicks in. I didn’t identify any top or heart notes; I just feel strong almonds and vanilla, sometimes it smells like coffee even though it doesn’t have it. It’s pleasant, and when I wear it, my husband asks if I put something sweet on, though for me it’s not that sweet, he just likes it. I think it performs better in winter, so I’ll wait for the cold. It’s a nice scent and lasts on the skin for about six hours.

My partner thought it smelled like incense at first and that it didn’t smell like anything at all. I have the new bottle, I’ll see how to use it or gift it. It’s a shame because I really wanted to like it.
