  • I bought it to try and discover what I like. I don’t have Hypnotic Poison so I can’t compare them; I’ll go to a perfumerie just to smell the original. I applied it and felt it wasn’t my style, I didn’t like it, I didn’t feel the sweetness or vanilla, hated the opening, and after 30 minutes I couldn’t smell it anymore, like it wasn’t there, though it was right on my skin. I showed it to my partner and he said it smelled like incense at first, which he didn’t like because it seemed like it smelled like nothing. I have the new bottle, I’ll see how to use it or gift it. It’s a shame because I wanted to like it.

  • I bought it to try out and discover new scents. I don’t have Hypnotic Poison to compare, so I’ll go to a perfumery to smell the original. Honestly, I didn’t like it: I didn’t feel the sweetness or the vanilla, the opening was disgusting, and after 30 minutes it was undetectable from a distance, though noticeable up close. My partner thought it smelled like incense at first and that it didn’t smell like anything at all. I have the new bottle, I’ll see how to use it or gift it. It’s a shame because I really wanted to like it.

It’s very similar to Hypnotic Poison, though it doesn’t last as long on me. But since it’s super cheap, I reapply, and I keep it in my purse.

It smells like Hypnotic Poison, though it doesn’t quite work on my skin. Since it’s so cheap, I reapply without thinking and always carry it in my bag.

  • flor del sur

I use it and sometimes I like it, other times I don’t. What doesn’t work for me is the opening, very alcoholic, but then the performance kicks in. I didn’t identify any top or heart notes; I just feel strong almonds and vanilla, sometimes it smells like coffee even though it doesn’t have it. It’s pleasant, and when I wear it, my husband asks if I put something sweet on, though for me it’s not that sweet, he just likes it. I think it performs better in winter, so I’ll wait for the cold. It’s a nice scent and lasts on the skin for about six hours.

  • flor del sur

I bought it in summer and it smelled weird, strange, barely noticeable, very alcoholic at first. I waited until winter, and now when I apply it, it comes out strong with alcohol and almonds, then softly vanilla, like enjoying an amaretto, a nutty liqueur, not too sweet. After 15 minutes it softens but keeps the notes, mentholated and liqueur-like. Once dry, it’s pure almond, with no vanilla or sweetness, despite the name. I like it because I love almonds; my nose screams almonds from a bottle of liquor. Sorry for the repetition, that’s what I smell. For cold weather, the performance is good and it lasts 6 to 8 hours. I put it on my bedding in the morning, and by night, the soft, almond-y, mentholated scent was still there.

Sweet Hope is sweet almonds with a hint of liquor, plus a touch of coconut and vanilla. I don’t have Dior’s Hypnotic Poison, but if it smells like this, I’d buy it without thinking twice. It’s deep, creamy, sensual, sweet, and lasts forever. If you’re looking for something more affordable than Dior, this La Rive is 100% recommended.

  • Marian power

It smells so good. I bought it for a steal and was surprised: it’s wonderful on my skin. It lasts about 4 hours max, but I just reapply and enjoy it. I love it.

A rich perfume I bought for a steal; I was surprised, it’s wonderful on my skin. It lasts a maximum of about 4 hours, but I reapply and enjoy it—I love it.

  • It brings me memories of brand-new dolls straight out of the box. It doesn’t last long, but when a breeze hits, it releases delicious bursts of scent.

  • It reminds me of the smell of brand new dolls. It doesn’t last long, but it gives off bursts with air currents. It’s delicious.

  • Maribel Allende

It caught me off guard—it’s a creamy, rich vanilla scent. For the price and quality, it’s worth it. Reapplying isn’t a hassle; La Rive surprises you; it’s not pure alcohol like people think. At first, it smells a bit like alcohol when you walk out, but within seconds, it fades and reveals the coconut with vanilla plum.

It caught me off guard: it’s a creamy, rich vanilla. For the price and quality, it’s worth it—reapplying doesn’t hurt. La Rive perfumes are surprising; even though they seem like dupes with an alcohol kick at first, it fades in seconds and leaves that coconut and vanilla plum scent.

  • It’s practically identical to Hypnotic Poison, but I feel it lasts longer for a fraction of the price. I paid 7k and the original costs over 100—it’s incredible.

  • It’s almost identical to Hypnotic Poison, but I think it lasts longer for an absurdly low price; I got it for $7 and the original is over $100, what a steal.
