Silver Shade by Ajmal

Tested on skin with 2 sprays on the arm. I didn’t like either the opening or the subsequent behavior on my skin. It might be the dry heat of 33 degrees, but after a few minutes it smells damp, a bit sweaty. Then it calms down and becomes soapy, clean but faint. I’m looking for a super fresh summer perfume, and the soapy note just doesn’t work for me, so I’m passing on buying it. It lasted 4-5 hours on skin. Price in Chile was $11-15.

Pleasant, vibrates similarly to Silver Mountain Water but is different. The opening is intense with synthetic citrus that fades in 5 minutes, leaving a secondary base that sometimes smells like floor cleaner. It has a subtle animal touch (civet or musk) that lasts a short while, along with a slight blackberry sweetness. It lacks the green tea and magic of Creed, but shines with its floral iris and rose notes that remind me of high-quality incense, with a sensual Arab touch. It’s unisex, though women usually love this type of intimate fragrance. Perfect for wearing inside the house after a shower to give love to your partner: clean from the musk, fresh from the citrus, and with an animal-floral touch that invites. Its only flaw is that they called it Eau de Parfum when it’s actually an Eau de Toilette; today it lasts little, almost a sigh, but it doesn’t smell cheap. I tested it for $12, worth it without paying the $350 for Creed which performs poorly. Scent: 7.5/10, Projection: 3/10, Longevity: 4/10, Price: 10/10.

I bought it a couple of years ago (2021). The opening can be scary; the blackcurrant note becomes very metallic and strong for the nose. The dry down is the best part. It’s clearly unisex and emulates the floral of Creed’s Silver Mountain Water, though they are different side by side. SMW doesn’t have that powerful, astringent metallic opening like Ajmal. I noticed it hardly projects. In my experience: don’t use it on very hot days, it can be suffocating. Ideal for windy summer days, autumn, and early spring. A daytime fragrance. Lasts 7 hours with little to no projection. Maybe Club de Nuit Sillage is better constructed. If you can get it cheap, go for it; otherwise, I’m not sure I’d recommend it.

Excellent value for money: $17 for an incredible scent, good quality, and decent performance. Ajmal nailed this. I compared it with Rehab Silver (a good option but better in oil) and Armaf (also good, but more expensive).

Notable citrus opening that lasts about 5 minutes, then settles into a scent with violet, sweetness from amber, and a woody base. I perceive it as pleasant, like a mix of honey and lemon. It has a unisex touch.

Greetings from Chile, it’s 32 degrees here and the perfume performs excellently, lasting easily 6 hours. I bought it blind and it was a huge hit. Found it on sale for $28.

Since I don’t know Creed’s Silver Mountain Water, I can’t compare, but I’ll focus on this Ajmal Silver Shade. It’s very well structured, unisex, and perfect for the heat. It opens intensely citrusy with natural and refreshing notes. Soon you notice a sharp, metallic note that isn’t unpleasant; it gives it energy. As it dries down, the citrus yields to a delicious combo of green tea and musk. The green tea, even though it’s not on the list, is the central axis. The flowers and fruits are barely noticeable, as are the woods. You can feel the civet touch, but far from being dirty, it combines perfectly with the tea and musk. On my skin, it lasted 3.5 hours: the first two were good, then fading. It’s advisable to carry a travel atomizer to reapply or put it on clothes. Very good fragrance, ideal for this season at 20 euros for 100ml. Its only weak point is performance. Highly recommended.
